Rockets fans never cared about scoring titles
    Just championships

    They didn’t invent fantasy basketball
    In that era

Dream dominated both ends of the floor

He sent the rockets to the finals in his second year

    Three finals

But you guys can think what you want

You can put Drake ahead of Tupac too

What about 28 year old Akeem Olajuwon?

Tinman: “Real fans only care about titles!”

Also tinman: “Harden will never win DPOY so he can’t catch Hakeem!”

    Also, Biggie > Tupac

Maybe part of it is hating on the era, but it's basically tailor made for any elite perimeter talent to dominate. I'll take Hakeem over anyone except Jordan and honestly, i'd like to see how many rings Hakeem would have if he had the same level of player and coaching talent MJ, LeBron, Magic, Kareem, Bird, Shaq, Kobe, Duncan, etc had through his own entire career. He'd be GOAT and not just in Houston. Harden winning 1 or 2 with CP3 + whatever other star may come will never put him equal to Hakeem IMO, simply because doing it 94 without another all-star is more valuable than doing it next to another Hall Of Famer or two, or three or six apparently according to Morey's plan B this summer. You also just can't make up for Hakeem's defensive dominance.

Look, I hate arguing against anything Hakeem did. He’s a legend, he’s the greatest Rocket ever right now. But the reason Harden needs to play with another all star to win a title is because the league/players are way better than they were in the 90’s. The game isn’t “tailor made” for anything other than talent. And the talent level right now is higher than its ever been.

I agree, I think Hakeem as a top 5 player. And had he played with better players in their prime maybe he’s in the goat discussion. But arguing that he’s untouchable for Harden is simply stupid.

I like the choice of not trying to compare them because they are different, but that wasn't included.

Besides, the question could apply to anyone on the team, even Hakeem's teammates during the championship runs. This should have been a "select all that apply" poll.

WTF with Max Kellerman? You say this is not a joke thread but that's clearly contradictory to your statement.

Lol old timers are the worst!

You realize James Worthy (the hall of famer) did nothing on the basketball court as well as Trevor Ariza... Role players today would be Hall of famers in previous era’s.

That’s not a knock on the players, they were the best in the world at that time. They were good enough to inspire the next generations to be better!

No it's not. Hakeem is on a different tier. Hakeem is untouchbale to Harden who is unanimous 2nd best Rocket ever but the gap between Hakeem and Harden is pretty big

That’s how tinman works man. He makes ridiculous statements, and then uses dumb polls to delegitimize any other argument... Because he knows he can’t actually defend his stance without just admitting he’s a subjective fanboy.

Obviously you're a young 'un who never actually watched basketball of that era if you think Ariza is comparable to Worthy...
I'm a Rox fan for decades - and a Laker hater... but thinking that "James Worthy (the hall of famer) did nothing on the basketball court as well as Trevor Ariza" is utter stupidity... lol

In my mind, he will always be the greatest Rocket. But we're in the here and now, and James Harden is the man.

Yes. I am a Tmac fan. That has absolutely nothing to do with anything in this thread.

Thank you for once again deflecting the discussion to avoid defending your argument with facts... You just proved my point!

You’re too predictable tinman, try harder!

The history of this thread showed up the same time that James Harden is Michael Jordan at a certain age thread

I'm from the era where you actually have to prove it

nothing stops you from exploring your imagination
