Sucks we were not able to get a pick by trading Dwight to the Hornets but eh...he was expiring, getting old, risky overall...
Who would have ever thought that Capela would have the 121st best win shares per 48 minutes season ever in the NBA at the age of 23? By the way his season slides in between a few decent players Lebron, Kareem, Barkley, Garnett, Oscar Robertson, Chamberlin, Jordan, David Robinson, and Larry Bird. Ridiculous. He could possibly have with health a top 50ish season next year with more improvement.
You know Dwight has got to be looking at this team thinking "Damn I F'ed Up!! I could have a been a Contendah if I had just STFU and played a role I was designed for!!". (slapping head repeatedly until the last bit of his dumb brain falls out his ear) You blew it Dwight, you blew it.
I rooted for dwight hard when he was here, even thought James played a big part in the drama...but from what it sounds like Harden didn't appreciate Dwight's non-competitive nature and how he was passive aggressive. He wanted him to demand the ball etc. Capela gets along with everyone and is willing to do whatever it takes to make the team better. We don't even have to run plays for the dude
Dwight and McHale wasted 3 years of Harden's prime. Dwight refused to play Capela's role when he was healthy and McHale is one of the worst coaches in the league at game planning and adjustments. The only thing McHale has is his name which he uses to recruit players or inspire role players.
I tend to agree with this but we have to remember that they did make it to the WCF as the #2 seed and lost to the Champs and one of the best assembled teams in NBA history so there is that. It wasn't all terrible, it just got terrible really fast after that.
