Don't be that guy... He spends half the game guarding the 1-3 guys at the perimeter, have you seen what happens when other bigs try this? They get blown by every time. The guy is a plus on both ends.

NBA money is dried up... i just hope DM doesnt bid against himself...... Its a gamble worth doing. If he get max somewhere else, then we match.... better than offering a max right off the back.

I think we can get Clint below the MAX.

It's almost unbelievable that he could conceivably get a max contract. The guy has worked his ass off every year. He is probably my favorite player on the Rockets currently.

His defense is great. He needs to improve on offense in the off season.

I disagree. His offense, although good right now, could get better...., but his job is to clean glass and finish dump offs. Hes damn good at that. He has enough moves around the rim to maneuver and hes gonna get hella paid for that. Hopefully we sign him and he doesnt have to be a focal point of an offense cause in that case, both sides lose.

He's very underrated scoring around the basket. Many people say he just takes lobs. When he squares up and puts the move and euro steps and spins on people... He's silky smooth... the only person i know with that kind of footwork and dexterity around the rim was the great one himself... hakeem olajuwon. Next year... look for him to add an "automatic shot." Something unstoppable. He's already so quick and crafty. Sometimes i dont even know how the ball got in but his scoring angles on those layups are silky smooth.

He grew into that. I swear he's better at layup than Brewer which is weird if you think about it.

Rockets are 23-0 when Cap has at least 3 blocks.

this is why i love pop snyder and brad stevens... they play rookies.. and it happens rookies can play much better than seasoned vets even in playoffs... who would have thought

No. You must work for CNN or FusionGPS. I did say that Capela was a JAP. I did not say all those guys could replace him. Because some of those guys aren't centers. But I did say we would be just as well off with them on the roster and replacing Capela with a different big.

I stand by those remarks....for now. But I'm hoping Capela proves me wrong and brings us home a championship.

Capela best center in the play-offs? I think so. His intimidation today was incredible and I would love if Harden and CP3 refuse to get away from their guys while he waits for them to just make a move like he did twice in this game.

He doesn't have to be a focal point on offense, but he does need to become a more reliable scorer around the basket. If he can give anything extra beyond that, it would be incredible.

Gotta give credit to our GM for making a great pick, and our staff for working so hard with him. But even more so, Clint deserves so much praise for putting in the amount of work necessary to reach the level he's currently at.

Granted, playing with Harden typically is enough to make a competent big shine to a certain extent, but the improvements we've seen over the last few years from Clint have been glaringly noticeable. The progress was very incremental for a couple of years, but the guy has made a leap this season.

The difference in his rebounding ability, especially on the offensive end, has been gigantic. His positioning on defense and his ability to protect the rim effectively has improved immensely. His scoring ability outside of dunking is coming around, and I really wouldn't be surprised if he becomes a 65% ft shooter within the next 5 years. His endurance is finally getting to the level we've needed him at. He used to be gassed by his 25th minute - now he seems to still be going strong after 32 plus. And this kid can ****ing run. Does exactly what we need him to do.

If we don't match whatever contract he'll undoubtedly be offered in the off-season, it will be a giant mistake. And that's not something I think our GM will be willing to do. He won't let it happen. After seeing the potential, cultivating it, and painstakingly working hard as hell for Clint to become the player he hoped he would become, I see no way that we will not pay him.

    Right?! Right.
