I don’t inherently trust anybody. That a pretty small sample size. But I get it, you can get more clicks with the percentage.

My apologies, it was a little confusing. They say they have 2,669 respondents with that demographic, but you can see the count on each week's data point. It was only 171 black males on April 29.

 

So closer to my estimate than 2,669.

 

Not really. Their confidence interval is 16-29%. And, it's 'double' from the week prior because the week prior had a dip. Looking long-term over 2017-18, there's a cohort of black Trumpers that is about 15% of black males, and about half that for black females. They exist.

I do think it is a bit specious to claim a Kanye Bump by looking at two weekly data points though.

 

Considering there are approximately 20 to 20.5 million black men in the country, using a sample size under 3,000 is small if we are trying to apply those findings to the larger population. I’m not saying that that was the intent of the pollsters, but that seems to be how it is received.

If this article is referring to the same jump then it sounds like less than 200 people were surveyed.

 

LOL, this poll is just a big misunderstanding.
