This. He was a starter in the minors and was throwing 3+ innings in relief in 2016. Yes, he’s proven he can’t do that over a full season... but until they figure out the Giles situation, he is the only viable option for 9th inning save situations. If you feel compelled to throw him in the 8th, you also let him go for the 9th.
And some wonder why Giles continues to get chances... because somehow, organically, this team finds a way to require him to get back to form.
I think its clear Devenski should be that guy - I don't understand why he hasn't gotten a legit shot and why he didn't go back out for the 9th.

This will be a demoralizing loss. a fly ball and a chapman 9th and we will suck all the wind these last two innings gave us right out. All because Devo was pulled. I understand you don't want to wear him out and I agree for a plain game. But this one is more than plain. You need to beat these guys n your house after these last two putrid performances.
I forgot it was a day game. Saw elsewhere we were up 5-3 in the 9th then immediately changed to 5-5. Switched to the game, see we're down 6-5......wow.
