probably a good, cheap, player development guy, to get them through their rebuild. in 3 years when they're ready for the playoffs he'll get the boot.
I wonder if/how the young guys on the Suns roster will deal with him, or better, how he'll deal with them.
He is one of the best European coaches who got enough burn as an assistant in NBA to transition smoothly to head coach position. He famously won last year's Eurobasket title with our NT Slovenia. It was his first big competition with our NT and Dončić's coming out party. We weren't favourites at all, especially with some great players retiring. Our bench was the laughing stock of first few games. Then we went undefeated to claim the title. To give you a comparison, it's the equivalent of Utah Jazz winning whole thing this year in NBA. Coincidentally, he's been Utah's assistant coach until now. Well, probably until end of the series.
I think this is a really good hire and he is very well regarded. Does he start now or finish the playoffs first?
