george just shot 2-16 in an elimination game as well. anyways, neither clyde or pippen even averaged 25+ as second fiddle. did wade? kyrie has but i'd much rather have CP3 next to harden anyways
As someone mentioned before, it's like they are trying to present two counter arguments in their same "Argument". First hot take - "Harden isn't as good in the playoffs because it's a different game, and he doesn't get those fouls he got in the regular season." Second hot take IN THE SAME ARGUMENT - "Man, Harden gets those calls! Why doesn't everyone else?" Just pick one...don't argue against your freaking self in the same segment.
As a CP3 fan for over 10 years, of course I would prefer CP3 over PG, or kyrie, it's not even close. But CP3 is an superstar, not on the same level as CP3 doesn't mean PG isn't not a max player. In fact, he definitely is a max player. Yes, George performed poorly in an elimination game, but even super stars can have very bad elimination games, James Harden last year for example. You need to not have context and not put too much emphasis on just one game. George didn't shoot well in the first quarter in that game, but other than the 3 desperation shots he attempted in the final minute of the game, he only got 6 shots in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarter, 2 per quarter. How can he be effective when he only had two opportunities to shoot ball in each quarter and doesn't even touch the ball in most possessions? When Russ goes into hero ball mode, he just won't pass the ball to nobody, not even KD. That's why everybody, even KD under-performs playing alongside Russ.
Listen man, all I know is Paul George left Indiana, they got better; he went to OKC, they stayed the same. And by my personal eye test, I wouldn't pay the mf more than 12M. I think he's over-hyped as hell and absolutely detrimental to a team as the no. 1 guy. IMHO edit: though I must say this has been a cordial discussion and it has been a pleasure disagreeing with you. I can only hope that the rest of my future arguments go as smoothly.
Thanks. He might not be worthy of more than 12M, but the market will give him 30M, that's how today's NBA works. Any all star players are likely to get max, because there aren't many of them.
@ElPigto @Reeko @James.B.H and whoever else disagreed with my statements about PG13... I think yall was right and I was wrong.
