Deputy national security adviser Nadia Schadlow resigns

Nadia Schadlow, the US deputy national security adviser for strategy, has resigned and will leave her position at the end of the month, multiple administration officials told CNN. Schadlow is the third senior national security official to resign or be pushed out in the wake of national security adviser John Bolton's entrée to the White House. She submitted her resignation on Tuesday, according to a copy of her resignation letter obtained by CNN, and a senior White House official said she will remain in her role until April 27 to assist with the transition. "The administration thanks Dr. Schadlow for her service and leadership in crafting the President's 'America First' national security strategy. The strategy has set a strong foundation going forward for protecting the homeland, promoting American prosperity, preserving peace through strength and advancing American influence. We wish Nadia and her family the best," White House spokesman Raj Shah said in a statement to CNN.

White House’s lead Russia lawyer Ty Cobb to step down

Ty Cobb, the top Trump White House attorney handling the Russia investigation, will step down at the end of the month, part of a more aggressive shift in tone in President Donald Trump’s legal strategy as special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe widens. White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders confirmed Cobb’s departure on Wednesday, saying the prominent white-collar attorney who left private practice last year for a job in Trump’s inner circle had been discussing his retirement for several weeks with White House Chief of Staff John Kelly.

Cobb told the New York Times in a phone interview he is staying on the job to help with the transition of his replacement Emmet Flood, an attorney who helped President Bill Clinton manage his impeachment defense and also served as a White House counsel under President George W. Bush. The White House did not officially announce Flood’s hiring, though he did meet with the president last year to discuss job options.

Important to note that none of trump's attorneys have the necessary security clearances to work on his case. Also interesting to note that the attorney rumored to replace Cobb is an impeachment expert.

EPA’s top spokeswoman is leaving the agency, the latest in a string of departures by key staffers amid the swarm of investigations into Administrator Scott Pruitt’s potential ethical lapses. The exit of Liz Bowman comes after Pruitt’s lead security agent, Pasquale “Nino” Perrotta, and EPA's Superfund task force head and adviser Albert “Kell” Kelly both quit earlier this week. Perrotta has cited negative media attention as contributing to his decision. His role in Pruitt’s security spending was under review by the agency’s inspector general, and he was interviewed by House Oversight Committee staffers on Wednesday.

Sam Clovis, the former Trump campaign aide who had been serving as USDA's liaison to the White House, is leaving the Agriculture Department and will return home to Iowa, a USDA official confirmed Thursday evening.

Clovis had served as a co-chairman and policy adviser on the Trump campaign and later led the USDA beachhead team for the Trump transition, but ran into trouble when President Donald Trump nominated him to be USDA undersecretary for research, education and economics.
Clovis withdrew his name from consideration in November — before the Senate Agriculture Committee could hold a confirmation hearing — after facing a torrent of criticism from Senate Democrats and environmental advocates. Clovis drew fire for his skepticism of climate science, past comments on issues like race and gender, and what critics on the left said was his lack of scientific credentials that are legally required for the position, which would also have had him serve as the department's chief scientist.

Clovis had endured criticism for months, but his withdrawal came shortly after he was swept up in special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe of Russian interference in the 2016 campaign and the Trump campaign's alleged ties to Russian interests. While serving on the campaign, Clovis had supervised George Papadopoulos, a Trump campaign foreign policy adviser who struck a plea deal on charges he lied to FBI investigators about his communications with Russia-linked contacts. Pence doctor resigns after Jackson debacle

Vice President Mike Pence’s physician has resigned, the latest fallout from the collapse of Ronny Jackson’s nomination for secretary of Veterans Affairs.
Dr. Jennifer Peña, who like Jackson is a military physician detailed to the White House, was among those who made claims of professional misconduct against Jackson to senators considering his nomination, according to a person familiar with the events.

Peña claimed in memos that Jackson might have violated Karen Pence’s patient privacy rights by sharing details of a medical incident involving the second lady with chief of staff John Kelly. The memos were first reported by CNN. The allegations were troubling to many in Pence’s office and the White House, who felt that Peña misrepresented the severity of the situation in an effort to harm Jackson, according to the person familiar with the situation.
