Maybe for George (if we lose to the Warriors, definitely), if we win the Championship (probably no to George). No to Melo at any point.
sure you are but hes reaching over out of his area and its pretty close to rw face as hes walking back to the locker room. when the fan pulls back, you can tell hes well over the area he should be in im saying what kind of reaction do you expect under those circumstances. and by luck russ looks like he missed (just barely) so that likely helped him lol
I understand the reaction and I probably would have done the same if not more. Even out of his area the fan has the right. It happens all game every game. I think Westbrook did luck out he just missed. Even if he only hit his phone and knocked it out that’s not good. But I never believed something would happen but it should have under precedent.
Melo has OKC by the balls. He's gonna opt in to get his $$. They will have to buy him out. Melo is well trained in making sure he maximizes his dollar.
yea - OKC cant do anything about it. They can say he will need to come off the bench or do this and that, but at the end hes getting hes 28 mil....
Presti says he looks at this season in segments: First 20 games of coming together, the “elite level” OKC was playing at in January, post-Roberson injury. Says “we have to own” how long it took to recover from that injury. Presti says he looks a the season in three different segments: The 8-12 start (which he expected to be "a little choppy"), the hot stretch in January ("I thought we were at a really, really high level and balanced), and the post-Roberson injury stretch. Presti says after the Roberson injury, OKC got “more outcome oriented,” less focused on getting better and more on just trying to win each game, and that caught up to them. Presti on the amount of time it took to adjust to the loss of Roberson: "We didn't do a good enough job with that." Presti: "There's a lot of positives to what we were able to do, but the inconsistencies of the performances is something we need to figure out." Presti: The Thunder was “disappointed” in the season. “And we should be.” Sam Presti says he’s excited that Billy Donovan might be able to work with the same core players moving forward. So that seems to answer that question. Presti on Billy Donovan, returns to concept of continuity: "If fortunate enough, he'll be able to work with the same core of a team." Presti on Donovan: “I think the biggest opportunity for him is in the continuity.” Says “continuity is his best friend going forward.” Presti calls Paul George “a tremendous fit” for the organization and community. Says it feels like he’s been here more than a year. Presti: From the day PG arrived, Thunder made an effort to build a relationship with him and his team built on collaboration, transparency and trust, and he feels good about that relationship. Presti says dialogue with Paul George “has really encouraged us.” Presti says he doesn’t want Melo’s end-of-season comments to be re-shaped to insinuate that he wasn’t a total pro throughout the season. Presti says Melo put “both feet in” during the season to adapting his game and making sacrifices. After the season, it’s up to the player to determine if that’s a role he wants to continue in. Presti on Melo: “He had to make a conscious decision to come here. I think he knew it was going to be a big transition and I give him an enormous amount of credit for being two feet in.” Presti says he respects Melo’s honesty about his role, and says it’s the Thunder’s job now to be open and honest with him in a dialogue about what’s important to Melo. Presti said he respects Melo’s honesty (exit interviews), said they’ll sit down face-to-face and figure out what’s important to both parties. Called Melo a “total pro” during the season. Presti on Melo: “I’m gonna reiterate one thing because it’s important: His comments at the end of the year are not reflective of his approach this yr. He put both feet into that. He has to decide if he wants to do another year of trying to be a stretch player." "He’s being candid and honest. We have the same responsibility. We have to be candid and honest with him.” Presti talks about the “extremely, extremely exciting” possibility of having Westbrook, George and Adams together in their primes with postseason experience. Presti: “We take a lot of pride” in Jerami Grant’s development. Says they’re “really excited if we can bring him back to the team.” Presti says the Thunder are excited about Jerami Grant's development, and they hope Grant is the same "but it's a market place." Grant is an unrestricted free agent this summer. Presti on the luxury tax, says the only way Thunder becomes really expensive is if Paul George re-signs. And that, yes, OKC would pay the cost to re-sign Paul George. Sam Presti says he thinks Russell Westbrook is focused on becoming a better 3-point shooter. Presti when asked how Westbrook can improve, says RW is focused on becoming a better 3-point shooter, sees the work he puts in late night in gym. "One thing I can tell you about Westbrook: He’s driven. He’s not going to kick his feet up and expect things to be different." Presti specifically referred to catch-and-shoot 3's with Westbrook. Presti asked about Sabonis and Oladipo’s performance in Indiana: “I honestly wasn’t drastically surprised, because we gave Victor that contract.” Also notes OKC “traded a significant player for Domantas.” Presti says the Thunder isn’t hoping that players who move on to other teams will fail: “We’re not, like, five-year-olds.” Presti on Oladipo and Sabonis: “I honestly wasn’t drastically surprised. We gave Victor that contract. A lot of people made fun of us when we did. … Last year we were a zero net rating team. Not because of those players, but the fit." "We want players that are from Oklahoma to go on and have success other places. We’re not five year olds rooting against other players. We want those guys to do well, and they should do well in those places because those places fit them." Presti asked if Melo’s status is tied at all to what PG does, and says he doesn’t know the answer to that. Presti on reports that Paul George is leaving OKC, said he talked to PG yesterday. “I’m not trying to dissuade anybody and say what someone told them is inaccurate. I’d rather listen to the man himself." Sam Presti wrapping up ... telling some stories. Said he drove out to Commerce, OK, a few days ago to see the statue of Mickey Mantle, went out to Yale, OK, as well "When seasons don't go well, I tend to take these looooong drives."
I expect the same as happens with every other NBA player in that situation. That they ignore the fan. This happens every game. Westbrook just cannot control his emotion like other NBA player. And like i said of throwing your mouthpiece in the stands warrants a fine this definately should.
based on what. you just guessing? fans dont just put there phones in players faces. recording from afar is completely different then being inches away

ESPN OKC Thunder reporter Royce Young: Westbrook/George/Melo "OK3" is a failed experiment ... for now
I have a player on my team that screams ball ball ball everytime his teammates gets the ball. I told him to stop being a russell westbrook. Let your teammates eat too.
I'm just looking for anyone to say something about how truly terrible the OK3 were since the media fails to do it.
