I walked into that Colorado hotel room and sized up my competition. I knew I had to turn the game more physical if I was gonna score this night. So I just whipped it out and got a vice grip round her neck. Then I went to work. Seriously officer, by halftime she was lovin it I swear. You know she called you out here because she thinks she can get some of this money now on top of it all. She's such a thief.

Everything Kobe does is so self-important and pretentious.. You guys remember that Muse Cage crap? I will give Kobe a pass on the animation he won his Oscar for, it was supposed to be self-important and pretentious.

People have to stop enabling this dude.

    interesting video though.

thanks for posting this. it actually was a really solid breakdown, some things to keep an eye on throughout the series...there was a lot of things kobe could have done a breakdown on and he chose this subject so thats pretty interesting...cuz i was just watching another breakdown on how the jazz cant actually defend the rockets very well - and its also really true, our offense spaces the floor with too many shooters and gobert doesnt have any way of chasing around perimeter players (then getting dunked on by capela right after) cuz thats not what he does...and i dont think theres anything mitchell is going to do as a rookie when his team is down by 20 or overwhelmed by the rockets high powered offense and crafty defense to really change the outcome of the series...harden and paul are too intelligent to get outmatched here, rockets taking this series in 4 or 5 games easy...

Well Hell, I don’t want to give too much on n how to play Houston and this joker comes along and goes
in depth nationally. I hope Kobe does the same with GSW’s defense.

    1) 5:35 Gobert roll to rim for post up action. I’ve hinted that as Houston’s Achilles heel. Saw a post yesterday
from someone saying it’s the defensive end that the Rockets need to be concerned about.....yes, mostly.
Fortunately it’s true that the art of posting up has faded dramatically. KAT/Gobert/Favors/Taj Gibson
completely suck at posting up. The only time I’ve seen Favors do anything, was game 2 vs the Thunder.
In that game Favors did almost everything.

    2) 12:16 you see Rockets defenders leave 3-point shooters to help defend. Exam is shooting 0% (on 0-3 3PA-PO’s),
Favors is 50% (on 2-4 3PA’s-PO’s), Rubio is 31.3% (on 10-32 3PA-PO’s) and Crowder is 35.6% (on 2.3-6.4 3PA’s/PO gm). Crowder went 5-7 from 3 in game 1 vs Houston, or his % wouldn’t be so high.
Jazz don’t have enough to compete with Houston over a 7-game series.

    3) 13:12 Packing the paint. Goes back to previous point.

    4) 16:16 Gobert drive at better angle to block for layup. Goes back to point 1.

    5) 19:54 Capela losing sight of ball handler during off ball screens. Both teams will make adjustments. This
point will be driven home into Capelas head.

    6) 22:01 Physical series. Yes, Donovan will push off on Ariza better and both teams will get a little more physical
and chippy. There will be more adjustments going both ways. Houston still will win the series.

Can’t wait for the Warriors break down. This morning Nick Wright did report Draymond Green was
on Rondo; which allowed Draymond to play defensive rover. Didn’t see the game; but thanks Nick.

He needs to cover all this information in 3 minutes then have Papi co-host the show if he wants to make it

Kobe's analysis is may good and informational, but his show is boring and drags on for far too long.

The analysis performed by Point Guard College is much better and more informative.
Here is a link to their YouTube page.
    https://www.youtube.com/user/PGCschape/videos

They did an analysis on Rudy Gobert defense against the Rockets from game 1 that was really good.
It was actually posted in another thread, but here it is again.

I watched the entire thing and thought it was excellent. We seem to be in a minority. I've never liked Bryant, but he's found something he can do very well and I hope he keeps it up. Yes, it may seem like minutia to some of you because it's long, very detailed, and pretty specific about what he's attempting to explain. Like I said, I've never liked the guy, and that's really an understatement, but I liked this. As someone earlier said, it really highlights just how good our defense is. Trevor got numerous compliments, as did Tucker, Clint, and heck, Harden as well. The compliments were secondary to Bryant showing what our guys were doing. As long as the subject is this series, I'll watch every breakdown. I'll watch a bit of what he has to say about Golden State, if the Rockets and the Warriors advance, perhaps before, if I have the time. I take nothing for granted.

Thanks for the find, OP. I would have seen Kobe's name attached to this and passed it by, if you hadn't posted this thread. I've just never liked the guy.

I do enjoy player critiques of one another. Apart from the unique insight, it's interesting to see what each other respects about the other. PERSONAL fave...

It can be both boring and good analysis. I imagine JVG film room sessions were boring as hell.

The production into was great but then it's just sitting with kobe in a film room. It's basically "highbrow" TV not really exciting.

It's my favorite interview with Shaq. Thanks for posting it. The obvious reasons are his comments about Dream, which are well known here, but the rest of the interview is also excellent. I'll have to remember that the next time he's driving me crazy as a talking head on TNT and elsewhere.

Incredible analysis. This is much better than what BBallbreakdown or any other youtube channel offers. It's not just X's and O's, but Kobe brings the interesting tidbits that only someone who has played at the highest level can offer.

I don't understand how anyone can say this is boring. If you're a student of the game, it doesn't get much better than this.

Damn is Kobe on Jazz payroll or what?! Dude just did a 20 min video session on how to break our D. It's cool though cause I hated him as a player (an person) and now I can hate him has a retired player. Fack him for doing this oh and it's facking boring. This series won't last.

-edit- I'm pretty sure Capela will be in foul trouble game two. Fack the rapist!

No, Kobe was Kobe because he was a narcissistic sociopath that happened to have a passion for basketball.
