Does CP3 still have it in him to match Curry's production?

CP3 has only barely averaged over 22 ppg in a season once. He's done that 3 times in the playoffs.
Can he do it against the Warriors in the WCF this year? Doubtful.

    But he doesn't need to.

18/7 with 37%-40% threes, 2 steals, limited turnovers, and solid defense and he's done his job.

For whatever reason, CP3 has trouble with Teague. It is one of the reasons I was worried about the Twolves match-up in the first round.

However CP3 has played Curry really well in a VERY LARGE majority of their matchups; He has matched or exceeded Curry's output. I didn't realize how well CP3 plays against Curry. Very surprising stats.

Last time he came back from mcl injury he wasn't 100% until the next season, so there's that

From what I've seen, Curry works CP3 in the playoffs on offense so... we need to counter elsewhere. Gordon, Capela, Ariza, Tucker, Moute, Anderson, Green - gotta makeup the difference somewhere in there.

@Clutch please close this thread. It is irrelevant and harmful to the active fan. As an active fan, I am keenly aware we are playing the Utah Jazz and not the Golden State Warriors, who are currently competing with the New Orleans Pelicans.

That moment when you try to be insulting, but then you realize that you didn’t recognize the sarcasm in my post, which was in response to a prior sarcastic post.

It’s ok buddy, there’s always next season.

This user is probably the dude who was just banned.
What we need to stop allowing new fans to start threads for a least a month to ensure it's not a previously banned pile of garbage returning

I expect this fake fan to be obliterated

hey ballscientist, stop coming back to Clutchfans

it's a little obvious that your new nickname is a big run on sentence without a '_' or a space
and that your topics are the same

you will be terminated again and wiped from the existence of Clutchfans

Perhaps you haven't isolated playoff stats, where Curry is clearly outplaying him, and I'm concerned about whether Paul can reverse that trend at 32.

Have you considered their playoff per48 rates? CP3 only trails by 3 ppg in those figures, and his assists, steals, rebs, and 3pt% are all better than Curry already with fewer minutes.

However, it is true that his high rate of personal fouls might limit his minutes, which can be a real effect in a game. But we have Harden as plan B so we don't suffer as much as his past teams when he's off court.

Edit: to be fair, these are head-to-head playoff stats from 2014. Maybe age has caught up to CP3, but at 32 and averaging what he's averaged under shares time, I'm thinking he's still got what it takes to be only marginally short of Curry's production.

Curry is outplaying CP, but not by much. If CP can average 17pts 9asts against Curry that would be great.

Thank you. I was thinking the same thing (not for the first time). Clutch should require a certain length of time before a new member can start a thread, giving them a chance to get a feel for the board and what's already been posted, or a certain number of posts before starting one. Heck, or both. The BBS has gotten too big, in my opinion, for @Clutch to have the time to keep a close eye this particular issue, and he shouldn't be expected to.

A software fix could at least insure that if a new member starts a thread that serves no purpose other than to take up space, or to start a "fight," or to insult "fill in the blank," that they can't plead that they "just didn't understand" how things are done here. What is expected and what the limitations are, as well as the boundaries. I'm not picking on this particular thread (although I won't complain if it's taken that way), but rather talking about thread starting privileges in general. Not really a topic that belongs here, but it doesn't hurt to have it mentioned from time to time in the GARM, in my opinion.

I definitely disagree. His efficiency is significantly lower than Curry's too in those numbers.

Curry's going to drop 25+ ppg on us. We need CP3 to become a SG in that series and try to get 25 every night. He plays the position the Warriors struggle to guard most. We need to take advantage of that a lot. Paul should get more shots against the Warriors simply for the fact that he's going to be attacking Curry/Zaza/Draymond >> all of whom he can destroy.
