I believe the deal should be completed next summer in 2019. From there it would probably take two years to come up with a script, cast new people and shoot at the quickest pace. Marvel is going to make sure that if they bring the Fantastic Four into the MCU that they're going to do it properly since the the franchise has already been rebooted once and both versions were not that great. It would have been great to have seen Silver Surfer in Infinity War like in the comics.

More importantly it will be really interesting to see what Marvel does with X-men which was their most recognizable and popular property outside of Spider-man (IMO) prior to the creation of the MCU. The Original X-men Trilogy and Wolverine movie were very forgettable (again IMO) the recent X-men trilogy was much better (though Apocalypse was a kind of a let down after First Class and DOFP) and Logan was fantastic.

It will be interesting to see how they will work in these characters into the MCU and who they may cast as the characters. Jackman was great as Wolverine and same with Patrick Stewart as Professor X.

My guess is that they are already working FF script and how to integrate them into the MCU. Moreso for their villains.

X-Men. I just don't know how they bring about including them unless they start calling inhumans mutants, use something like infinity gauntlet to completely redo reality, or have X-Gene start to emerge now (i.e., would greatly alter backstory of X-Men like Wolverine). I think it would be wise for the MCU to avoid much reality bending for a while after Avengers 4.

    1) It was good

    2) The pacing was a little too fast in the first 30 minutes

    3) Thanos was a great villain

    4)
The emotional weight of the deaths at the end fell flat when you know that all these characters are signed on for more movie contracts

    4) I honestly did not realize (I forgot), it still got me because the audience was full of kids/teens who did not seem to know either.

It was a shorter WTF moment until I thought about it a tad later.

I recommend to go in there if you were stressed out before, it kind of really takes you on an emotional ride.

My S/O was busy so I went alone, got no one in my ear, got nothing in my head.

I don't remember Captain Marvel being ALL THAT. I thought a fringe character - Rogue - put her in the grave or something. Did the MCU want to reach for a Wonder Woman counter? I'm sure she'll be great for the MCU, just seems like a random choice.

Surprised they didn't go a BIT younger with the casting too. Downey Jr. has 10 more years if he wanted to keep it going. But women can age with a QUICKNESS.

They no doubt wanted a female star, it was clearly something missing from their hero portfolio. When you remove the X-Men, Marvel's female roster is surprisingly weak (in terms of popularity and powers). Captain Marvel has been lined up for a while, even before the success of Wonder Woman.

They likely need to replace Thor and Iron Man, so they need a hero with some major power. From a pragmatic writing and business perspective, the character checks virtually every box the company could want. As for not being all that, she will be easily the strongest hero in the MCU.

And FWIW, most of their characters we're b-listers, that's all they had to work with considering Spidey,X-Men, and Fantastic Four were unavailable.

Yeah, I have no problem with the Captain Marvel character selection, it's just weird to see her being built up as being so powerful when the comic version never came off as anything special.

not enough for people who watched all the movies, but it's nitpicking. (missing some characters)

Adam Warlock who is teased at the end of GoTG2, but doesn't currently exist in the MCU and probably wont show up anytime soon.

I’m gonna see Infinity War this Friday. I’ve avoided this thread like the plague because I’m scared I’ll be scrolling through it and see spoilers. There’s always gotta be that 1 dude who just spoils sh*t.

I liked reading Nova from way back. I can see why they didn't build a movie around it, but it would've been interesting to see what happened to Xandar.

    a) spoilers, sir.
    b)
the prevailing theory is that they didn't show what happened to Xandar so they can make a solo Nova movie.

Yeah Captain Marvel or Ms Marvel as she was known back then wasn't anything special until the 00's. They brought her back and she became Marvel's premiere SJW friendly hero who has no flaws. But Brie Larson. Damn
