Rudy is great, but can Clint be the the player you choose straight up in today's NBA?

He is not nearly as long but is quicker and more comfortable switching out on the perimeter. The versatility guarding the perimeter and at the basket is perhaps more useful than traditional rim protection.

Clint outplayed KAT in round 1, is he about to outplay another elite C in round 2?

Favors is a far better matchup for a team like us than Gobert, Gobert was better against a team like OKC which was smoke and mirrors propped up by offensive rebounds.

If given the choice you take Gobert for the totality. BUT, Clint's ability to switch on the perimeter is severely underrated by most. Casual fans haven't caught up to the importance of that aspect in the modern NBA.

i think gobert is solid. definitely someone i wouldn't mind having on my team but i dont think hes as good as alot of people make him out to be. he definitely gets exposed playing against hou and more discipline teams

Capela's impact on the game is just as much as his if not more. it wasn't too long ago that many didn't even consider CC as good as DJ.

If you are asking who's the better player; it's Capela.

But if you are asking who is the better defender ...

The absolute perfect modern day center is clint offensively and Gobert defensively. Maybe sprinkle in a 3pt shot but not one he loves and takes all the time.

Inb4 holic tells me Thon Maker is that perfect blend

Cap adjusts better to his alley-oops. Rudy is primarily a dunker and can be kind of stiff.

Straight up in the pros? Capela. Pickup? Rudy.

I wonder if Clint's defense may be preferable in some situations to Gobert's. With the frequency of 3 point shooting in the NBA on the rise, Capela's ability to switch and cover the perimeter at a more than solid level is very important. Gobert kind of got neutralized last game when Houston pulled him to the perimeter.

While I agree Go bear is the better inside defender Capelas footwork out in space is elite. I would go so far to say Capelas impact overall defensively is greater.
On the offensive end Capelas rim running while simple is unmatched, the kid gets up and down the court right now!

I mean capela is very important and his perimeter switching is great but Gobert may win dpoy this year. Optimally the perfect center would have Goberts length and rim defense with capelas switching ability.

Compared to other 'big' C's, Clint runs the floor like Usain Bolt.
That's how he victimized KAT in the first round and showed it again in Game 1 vs Jazz.
He flat out beat Gobert down the floor several times and ran him into the ground.
Hard to defend your man from 6 steps behind. GO CLINT!
