ClutchFans Game Thread: Jazz @ Rockets 4/29/2018 (Playoffs Round 2, Game 1)

Not in the playoffs and not on a Sunday

 

I've been here for almost 10 years and that's game threads for you. Not sure what your expectations are.

 

Chris Paul with the 7 TO game.

It fueled Utah in to going on a run in the third.

The Rockets clearly outclass Utah when they are focused.

 

Because us running up the score on the Spurs in games 1 and 4 made all the difference!

 

Agree somewhat....I said very early on that that this series would not be easy...Utah will win a game or 2.....probably at the SLC nuthouse.We get very lackadaisical with no look passes, TO, firing up last second shots after dribbling the shot clock down. I would argue that I saw a Jazz team BEGGING to be finished off heading to the 4th...tired, no energy, ready to mail it in in the 4th and live to fight another day but we encouraged them.We were beaten down the court on every run out and we have been resting since Wednesday.JMO.

 

Reading r/Thunder is hilarious they have multiple threads on Houston and James Harden. They are so envious.

 

How much does our crowd play into the lulls in play? They probably occasionally forget it's a Playoff game at times.

When the crowd's really into it like that comeback against Boston a few months back they look damn near unstoppable.

 

It’s about consistent effort and maintaining a certain level of play. I’m overall happy about the result and there’s lots of positives to take away from this game, but somehow pointing out some problems or worries on Clutchfans immediately is equated to being a hater and whatnot.

The biggest pop from the crowd was when Green hit the three. Unfortunately they won’t truly show up until GSW. It is what it is. This is the crowd especially with the corporate seating

 

The crowd is definitely reactionary. Houston fans aren't going to cheer you back into a game, but they will pull you across the finish line if you're fighting to get there..

I felt the same in the 4th with the lethargic performance especially Chris Paul having bad turnovers and allowing the Jazz fast breaks. However, that is part of playoff basketball to make adjustments and get better as the series progresses.

I know you're a level-headed Rockets fan here.

My earlier comments were directed at all the whiners and crybabies who think if Rockets don't win by 30 then it wasn't a good game. Just look at how far we have come from last year's 2nd round. A performance like today would have been cherished a year ago.

I think we are getting too spoiled on Clutchfans and becoming complacent about too many things here.

 

Noticed what you say...Green's 3 was one of the rare moments when the crowd ignited. Sad.

If the game ever got to within three possessions then that is a problem. Our lead never got below 12, and the Rockets early shooting was completely unsustainable, so was the Jazz bricking everything.

 

Harden out here at the podium looking like he got complementary pajamas from the Wakandan 4 seasons hotel
