Ah, our old rivals. It's been too long. We get big men out of the paint, it's what we do. Put Gobert in the PnR, play Ryno at the 5. Limit Gobert's defensive impact and their defense is much less intimidating. Offensively, they don't have much besides Mitchell. Another good match up for us I would say. Rockets in 5
I know, they are a very solid team with a lot of talent that is under rated. Every starter is above average as a TEAM they cover one another’s weaknesses making them even better and me uncomfortable, too. I know we will win but it is going to be a fight.
i wanted to play the jazz in the first round actually lol...i can see a potential sweep too but most likely we'll take them in 5... i remember the regular season matchups against the jazz...harden went off for 56 at one point...they are a very solvable and inexperienced team...oh and hopefully the pelicans can take game 1 tmrw!
okc is such an organized, discombobulated mess, that i don't know how you can gauge how good the jazz are vs. how they look against that dumpster fire in okc. the jazz don't look intimidating at all. i think the rockets wash them easily.
Utah doesn't really have a stellar wing defender like Butler, George, Roberson to stick on Harden. This is a huge advantage for us. Also, if we play alot of small ball and drag Gobert out of the paint, Harden and Paul can feast.
Jazz don’t play particularly smart, not involving Gobert, not much pick and roll aside from Ingles w/ Favors and try to beat you with threes and Donovan 1-on-1. Still, they are playing at a high level while we haven’t yet. Rockets in 6.
https://www.deseretnews.com/article...zz-Houston-Rockets-regular-season-series.html That said, Ingles and Crowder are their perimeter defenders.
Last game we played them. On a 2nd night of the B2B in Utah, Anderson and CC bring absent, we still beat them convincingly by double digits with them pretty much running the stuff you see in the OKC series at their full strength. We had Black starting in place of CC in that game.
Rockets defense matches up with Utah so well.... They don’t have a big that can hurt them on switching. With no Rubio you can focus on stopping and doubling Mitchell.
