I have seen some restaurants put a range on the items where there are variables. For example: Small 1 Topping Pizza - 800 - 985 calories

That is what the law allows for. Only items listed on the menu need calories shown. And the can give the varied range. Unless Domino's already puts 1,000,000 combinations on their menu, there is no need to individually list them out.

    Literally from the FDA:

We disagree that variable menu items do not include foods such as pizza. Our proposed definition is consistent with section 403(q)(5)(H)(v) of the FD&C Act, which expressly includes pizza as an example of a standard menu item that comes in different flavors, varieties, or combinations, but is listed as a single menu item. For example, a menu or menu board can list a pizza with a particular price and up to four toppings. This is an example of a food that comes in different varieties because the consumer has the choice of various toppings.

Oh, I wasn't arguing. I find it hard to believe that in this day and age, Domino's isn't already doing what the Subway example shows. The only way it should be a problem if they did have to do something as ridiculous as listing a plethora of combinations (which they don't).

That's the point, the EPA benefits cities. Guess who doesn't live in cities? Coal mines and industry around polluting. So of course the people in those places want the EPA gone so the cities turn back into the shitholes they are and they can feel good about not living there.

Funny how in the after photo they drive on the wrong side of the road. I guess Pittsburgh got converted into a European city as part of the clean-up. Also, looks like it's raining in Pittsburg

think this is a valuable regulation...Informing the public of the calories is a necessity. Obesity is a major problem in our nation. 1 in 4 patients are Obese...

THESE ARE THE SAME CALORIES. Calories are not what constitutes health or not.

Again. This is a just another example of nanny government forcing costs upon a business and ironically placing the
    emphasis on the WRONG metrics.

I hold the USDA Food Pyramid and guidelines responsible for many Americans switching to LOW-FAT foods that were
loaded with processed sugars like Cola's, Skittles etc.

The Government gets these things wrong and creates a populace that doesn't feel it needs to be discerning as the
nanny state will watch out for them. I prefer freedom of businesses and low regulations to keep costs low.

The market will bear whether people want to go to restaurants that allow people to smoke, have calorie counts
    or have nude waitresses.

I just believe in freedom not only of people but of business owners.

These are the uncompromising irrational extremist ideas that push extremist agendas from both sides...and often getting passed.

One one side, you have those who thinks its ok to lets restaurants decide if they should allow smokers, or put vending machines all over schools or simply ignore poor food choices everyone makes.

On the other side, you have those pushing agendas like forcing businesses to accept extremist people to participate in peoples beliefs. A business has the right to decline making a hate driving message on a cake just as much as they have a right to decline a homosexual message.

If your argument is the harsh punishment for unintentionally publishing incorrect calorie counts, then yes, that is debatable.

If all you're doing is whining about the unwillingness to publish calorie counts, then you're being obtuse.

If Americans had the self control not to shovel crap in their mouth w/out thinking twice, we wouldn't have this issue. However the reality is we are one of the top countries facing obesity crisis. No, we shouldn't need the government dictating these solutions, however nothing is stopping businesses and mass advertisement from taking advantage.

Hmm Its pretty easy to calculate the calories no matter which combinations of ingredients you use. Your system will require an initial set up to detail all the ingredients individually then as the customer is customizing the pizza every ingredient total gets added into the overall summary.

Also like others have quoted looking into actual calorie information changed my eating habits

I agree with focusing on quality and not quantity.

But if the trend is quantity, how would you change it to quality ? People just know? CDC / government can and should play a role. If you leave it to just business, in a capitalist based society, they aren’t aiming for health but profit.

And again, you picked a bad example of bad regulation. There isn’t a big cost burden here and calories info is helpful for those that understand it.
