Just got back from a 'Fan Showing' which got me an Avengers coin and free popcorn for my $20. I won't spoil anything but I will say that this movie completely deliverers as both a great action flick and a comic book movie. I -truly- nails that 'Comic Book Event' feel 100%. The Gunn brothers did it again. If you're planning on seeing this, please, don't read any spoilers or reviews. Just go. I will be going again at least once.
they had one of those fan showings at the webster cinemark that i went to. opted for the XD, 3D, lounge seating instead. edit: i'm sure someone will ask later... yes, the 3D was worth it.
1. avengers 2. first blade 3. winter soldier 4. iron man 5. black panther 6. infinity war (thanos is soooo hard to do. will likely move up to to three after second viewing)
I just got back from the late showing. No spoilers But it makes you want to see the next one Special effects were great. Thought they did Thanos well. Well Spoiler The scenes where hulk is running with cap and all in Wakanda isn’t there !
It was pretty good. Peter and Gamora Spoiler dying was quite heavy Will probably watch it again today since I'm off.
Oh yeah, that’s where I went. The broken AC and 85 degree temp really added to the ambiance of 109 excited comic book nerds (I’m counting myself). You should stop by today and get a refund. Btw, I guarantee you saw me. ✊
Wow! It was a stunning experience. Thank you Disney for giving us a great movie with a great cast of characters and writing. This was definitely a dark movie but there was still plenty of funny moments like most of the other MCU movies. The characters and stayed consistent within their previous roles I thought. DO NOT READ SPOILERS! A major part of this experience is NOT knowing what's going to happen. Stay off the grid! That said, can someone clarify this? Spoiler YOU IMBECILE! STOP CLICKING ON SPOILERS
Super excited. Have both of my boys with me for an 8:30am showing. Straight A’s and perfect conduct for the entire year earn you a hookie day and Avengers Infinity War. We were the first ones here btw. I’m anal about sitting in the same spot. I’ll give my thoughts on the film after it’s over.
Spoiler free review: 10/10 Was it the best movie I've ever seen? Of course not. Were there things that could have been done better or little plot holes? Of course BUT Man oh man it was just so great on many levels. Given the background of the past 10 years of build up through the various movies this movie exceeded all my expectations. It was supremely satisfying and personally with the multitude of characters in the movie it felt nothing was compromised. When the LOTR movies came out I felt there wouldnt be another movie series that would capture the scale and the largeness of what those movies brought, but IW did that. The CGI was on point and the 2.5 hours just flew by. There was a ton packed in but nothing felt rushed to me. Definitely plan to see this again a few times before it leaves the theaters (thanks moviepass!)
Go see this movie. That's all I can say without spoiling. This is 10 years in the making and they pulled it off. Also, skip the large drink and use the restroom beforehand because you do not want to miss a moment. It doesn't feel long at all and when it ends your basically left wanting more. All in all 10/10 going to see this at least two more times if not more. They have a lot to live up to for the close out. Spoiler for more in depth Spoiler Literally me when it finished letting it sink it. seriously spoiler territory Spoiler From the get go it just raises the stakes. Everyone that wanted higher stakes you got them. We knew people were going to die but the number that did wow. Still being vague in case people ignored the spoiler warnings. Marvel now has another great villain. They devoted the perfect amount of time to Thanos to understand why he is doing this and know his character. His use of the infinity stones was amazing and basically made you ask how the hell do you beat this guy. I did not expect him to actually get all the stones but was very glad that they did. The ending it was gut wrenching for me. Thor wondering if Thanos actually succeeded, and just seeing people die one by one and not knowing who's going to be next. Again Spoiler!!! Spoiler When Peter died, I just about lost it. That moment had so much weight to me and did not expect that. Also T'Challa being one of them was when i realized that no one was safe at that point. Can't wait for the next one.
I'll be staying off this thread until I see this movie, but fair warning for those that don't want to see spoilers.... DO NOT QUOTE ANY POST WITH SPOILERS IN THEM. THE SPOILER TAG WILL NOT WORK AND YOU WILL SEE ALL THE HIDDEN CONTENT WHEN YOU ARE CREATING YOUR POST.
Spoiler The "deaths" were shocking to me but I'm still doubtful any of the characters that disintegrated were actually dying. They were probably being teleported somewhere else. Either that or somehow in Avengers 4 all the events get erased or we go back in time for a major MCU reset. I saw this on the Infinity War spoiler reddit thread and I agree with some theories that it's actually the people that didn't go that are in danger if you will. Notice that most if not all the Phase 4 characters "died" while the original Avengers were spared. I'm sure this was done for a reason and it'll either be explained in Avengers 4 or the Captain Marvel film.
W. T. F. Packed house and everyone stayed completely silent in our seats long after the conclusion. And I do mean everyone. Never experienced anything like this at the theater. That’s all I will say.
Spoiler The vibe in the theater was similar to when I saw Logan, the air completely got sucked out of the room during the scene
