    Because you say so?

People don't meet at fast food like Starbucks?

Just because people are meeting doesn't add an hour to their pre order ritual

Starbucks for the most is in and out like McDonald's

Actually very few are just there to hang

    @bobrek

You've seen Starbucks in the mall right. It isn't for meetings

My and my friends used to hang at a place in NY called Central Perk back in the 90s. Thankfully we knew the waitresses so we could get away with only ordering a few cups per visit.

Let me guess: no one told you life was going to be that way?

So you won't accuse me of dodging your questions....Starbuck's markets itself as a place to meet...to hang out...to use wifi. Sure...some of them aren't conducive to doing that.

Plus I was actually agreeing with you about fast food places.

A place to meet, to hang out, to use wifi.....as you are drinking coffee and eating their food.

It's meant for their customers to be able to do that, and in some locations that are densely populated their customers can't do that if their store is filled with non-customers who just decided they have the right to use that store as their personal business office.

    McDonald's has WiFi bro.

Starbucks is more like fast food than meeting. I'm sure at least 80% of customers are in and out

[agreeing with you here]I suspect it may be even higher than 80%.

That doesn't negate the fact that Starbucks markets themselves as a meeting/hang out place. I am not aware that McDonalds or Wendys or BK or KFC does.

Can you present any evidence of racism that would actually hold up in a court of law?

Not sure. If the manager told the EC that she wouldn't have made the same decisions if they were white, and she would testify to that in a court of law, then I assume that would be evidence.

The EC had to have some reason to put his company at risk of a civil rights fight by saying there was no doubt in his mind the manager acted with racial bias.

It's common knowledge McDonalds is the go to place for restroom breaks on road trips. Maybe next time they should use mcdonalds for a meeting place.

In France they were real picky about that. No problem. If we really had to go, they have great McDonalds there. They actually have a bakery in a lot of them. A nice bakery. I'm always up for cookies or cake.

    So what

You have never seen people meeting at fast food restaurants?

Where does Starbucks say, hey come spend an hour here meeting friends and not buying anything?

    Haven't seen that commercial

Why are you arguing about this? Starbucks admits hanging out and meeting without purchasing is encouraged (although some locations are not as prepared to accommodate as others). The Philadelphia police chief admitted his office was not aware that Starbucks does this and will train their officers about it.

People do meet at other places as well. It's just not marketed at places similar to those I mentioned and it is marketed at Starbucks. Now y'all can argue until you're blue in the face, but it is accepted policy and practice at (many) Starbucks.

A business needs to advertise it's trying to get you to spend money?
