By record, the AL West is toughest of the AL divisions to this point.

    AL East: +2
    AL Central: -14
    AL West: +9

    (games vs .500)

I was looking for an easy way to sum up the season so far.

    #1 Team Era (2.62)
    #15 Runs Scored

Yep, that looks about right to me.

Despite our early struggles at the plate and losing 5 out of 6 games, we are still on pace to win 104 games. It's too early for real projections but that shows that this team should be able to keep a .650 win % or higher throughout the season despite hitting any highs and lows.

There’s definitely something to this. I noticed tonight after McHugh struck out a batter for out number 3 Gattis appeared like he wanted to throw the ball around the horn like it wasn’t the third out. So even after he got in the game he still had a minor problem remembering where they were at with outs. Prior to this they showed him on the bench messing with his glove and he just looked like he was bored or something sitting by himself.

Maybe they should give him the occasional start just to keep him involved. Seems like he needs it.

I've heard interviews with several players talking about how difficult it can be to DH regularly, for the mental reasons you talked about. Some guys can embrace that role, some guys can't.

Astros are starting to remind me of the vintage Yankees teams that dominated baseball for stretches of years.

Baseball players are such headcases haha. We can only hope Seattle is out of it by the all star break and Nelson Cruz becomes available...

To be fair to baseball players, it's akin to golf in the cerebral and concentration level.

Somebody mentioned Abreu, but Cruz would look lovely as well; as would a lot of guys who are not Astros at the moment.

We have played in the most games (22) and second most road games (13, only behind Colorado's 14) and we are still 15-7 and 2nd best record in the AL. Good start to the season

    Altuve (top 5 in BA)
    Correa (top 5 in RBIs)
    Reddick (top 5 in HRs)
Oswalt, Clemens and Pettitte top 3 in ERA... whoops I mean Morton, Cole and Verlander

Despite what the Astros insisted, there was a World Series hangover. Hopefully they can continue to play much looser.

Astros back within only 1 1/2 games of the best overall record in the majors at 29-17. 102 wins projection.

No MVP mentions due to players on other teams killing it but definitely we could see us go 1-2 in the Cy Young talk

Only 14 runs given up in the last 10 games played. WOW!
