Well, Toyota Center tried to do something different with the playoff shirts. Instead of red or white, they made the free tees black. This was a HUGE flop. Looked as if I were the only one in my section who wore the shirt. The arena looked like a regular season game. Didn’t have the vibe of a playoff game. Guess Houston doesn’t like the Blackout theme.
The crowd at TC doesn't put on the shirts no matter what color. Can't wrinkle up them fancy dress shirts.
With the exception of the playoff games I've never bothered putting one on. XXXXXL isn't a great look for me. I usually give them away.
I wore a black dress shirt specifically because I knew about the blackout. Everyone I was with wore black. But yeah, nobody around me put on the shirt. The "Put on your shirt" cam is funny.
It’s sad that they have to use the “put on your shirt” cam to pressure fans to put the shirt on. That’s never an issue with other fan bases except for the rockets.
Shirts are a stupid idea anyway, just make it he seats stand out since the lower bowl is empty and then at least it looks cool on TV
I wore a black Rockets shirt to the game they need to stop handing out only XL...I wear L I gave my shirt away to one of my friends today, I had no use for it nobody wants to cover up the Rockets gear they already have on with some oversized shirt

I went to 2 playoff games against OKC last year and a lot of people wore the red shirts given away. The sea of red really pops on TV too. I think the Rockets should just wear the black alts on the road and go with the all red theme at home. It's intimidating for the other team to see so much red.
I thought Portland had the best t-shirts from game 1s and was surprised that their fanbase was hardly wearing theirs too! It isn't just us. I usually throw the shirt on no matter what it is, but yesterday just wore an all black Rockets outfit. Black may not have popped as much, but we've been wearing our black jerseys so much this season we identify with it more than in the past. We haven't worn white at home once, yellow isn't part of our color scheme for any jersey this season, and I could fill my closet completely full with the amount of Rockets red shirts I've had over the years. Black is a nice change- but I really don't need one more t-shirt that says run as one.
I mean, I’m fine with wearing rockets gear. But, having the whole crowd red shows the increase of intensity when playoffs come around. When you look at OKC or GS crowd during the playoffs, it looks amazing!
Yeah I don't think it was the color, people generally like black sports gear more than any other color. What was the content of the shirt?
I agree, a sea of red is a better look I just don’t get why all they ever pass out is XL, they should have other sizes available
