Spent the early part of the day cleaning her up and getting her ready for a new season. I fish the LLM, so I can't really give any advice on the Houston area. However, I'm not a bait chunker. Pure lures.
Wondered what you meant about therapeutic, and then I see the post about your father. Very sorry to hear this. My love of fishing came from my dad; l also lost my dad in march.......but a dozen years ago. He never got to meet my son, but I see my dad when my boy is all excited catching a fish. Bittersweet. But after all the years, I can honestly say it's mostly sweet.
I'm sorry for your loss @Pole . My Dad instilled the love of fishing in me as well. Dad sold me his bay boat when he didn't use it anymore and I fixed it up. Just last year, I picked up the Dargel and sold his old boat. Dad had not been fishing in a while because he was Mom's caretaker and would not leave her side. I was planning to get Dad on the water when he was ready. Sadly, I never got to take him on that trip. The first time out since his passing is going to be very emotional for me, but I think it will help me heal as well. I found out at Dad's funeral that he told all the family that I was "the fisherman" in the family.
