this **** has been pissing me off. I can't go on r/nba anymore. All these lebron stans are 15 year old kids with copy/paste arguments. so frustrating.
I like to make the argument for MVP in the reverse. Why would I NOT give the MVP to LeBron: Only won 50 games Finished with the 4th seed Took an entire month off, and in that month he had the worse +/- in the league Orchestrated locker room drama, resulting in multiple players traded Why would I NOT give the MVP to Harden: ???? I like Kobe's quote about "What does Harden need to do?" He can't win more games, he can't be higher than the 1 seed, he can't be higher in PPG because he's first in that too. Maybe Harden could've played in all 82 games, but he's done that pretty much every season with the Rockets and no one brings it up, so the one year he has a bad hamstring for 10 days, it all of the sudden matters?
There clearly is a bias against Harden, sure he will finaly be MVP but it really feels reluctant. Even though hs is the nba leading scorer on a 65 win team (when no other team has 60 wins) there are still people saying maybe someone else deserves it. I really hate that so many journalist say in their story aout the MVP that Harden will get it since because he came in second 2 of the last 3 years. No he will get it since he is the best pleyer in the nba and the best player on the best team. Not because he deserved it in the past years. On top of that why do people keep saying yes Harden will be MVP but Lebron is clearly the best player in the NBA. I never hear people so those things in past MVP races. When Curry or Westbrook won MVP nobody said that they were not the best player in the NBA. Furthermore James Harden has finished top 2 int he MVP race 3 times in the last 4 years (if he wins it this year). Lebron James did not finish in the top 3 once in the past 3 years. So how is he still the best player?? That there is a bias against Harden is also clear if you look at 2015-2016 2014-2015 Second in the MVP race 2015-2016 Not in an all NBA teams (while averaging 29-7-6 and making the play offs) 2016-2017 Second in the MVP race 2017-2018 MVP Yes houston underperformed, but Harden should have made an all nba team. A championship would feel even sweeter because of the bias against Harden from the media.
me: Harden deserves to be MVP, he’s been the best player in the NBA this regular season. He has the best stats and he’s lead his team to the best record in the NBA. friend: U can’t be serious, Harden doesn’t play any D. All he does is flop. U can’t give an MVP to a dude who doesn’t care about defense and chokes in the playoffs. His numbers are that good because of D’antoni, they’re inflated. Lebron is elite on both ends. If u had a choice between adding Harden or Bron to your team, you’d choose Bron. Harden for MVP? Stop... me:
