We can beat anyone if our 3 pt shooters aren't in a slump. No doubt.

Well the playoff seedings really gave the Warriors a boost as they get to avoid both Utah and OKC who have abused them multiple times each this season. Instead they'll play the Kawhi-less Spurs and probably the Blazers who they've kind of struggled with but seem to be playing poorly going into the playoffs.

Best record by 6 games ahead of anybody else.

7 games ahead in front of GSW including a 2-1 season series. Their MVP will be coming back from a knee injury and certainly won't be at 100%.

And yet we somehow have worse odds. The disrespect is real. But, I wouldn't have it any other way. It'll make the victory that much sweeter.

its not really disrespectful. thats just oddsmakers. It just doesn't make sense for the defending champs to not be favorites over someone else who has yet to prove anything. want to be the favorites? then win it this year and hou will get to see themselves be the favorites for next year

If I start this thread, the subject would be

Rockets almost become Favorites to win the title this year.

I wonder what the Mbah a Moute injury does to that number. Does it drop to 20%? 4%? 1%?

Thanks for clarifying. I'm not a gambler so I have no clue on how odds are made. I just assumed this was another thing the media controls.

Question though: in boxing or combat sports for example, when a champion is defending his title and coming back from an injury or significant layoff, do they tend to still be favorites going into the bout? I know basketball and combat are two completely different things, but just wanted to see how they compare.

yeah they'll still be favorites but the public and oddmakers do take those other things into consideration (injury, layoff etc) as far as information into making a decision. people tend to risk some change and just bet on the underdog as it is a good value payout if there were an upset.
