I agree.... except for Ken GIles. What I see on paper and what I see with my eyes match perfectly. He's toast after being destroyed in the playoffs.

Luckily, we only need 4 starters come playoff time. Hopefully Keuchel gets his stuff together so we can use McCullers or Morton as closer in October.

Game 13, and it's still cool to say the defending World Series Champions Houston Astros.

Good start. Would've loved more than one run (Altuve's check swing groundout was unlucky but did advance the runners). Hopefully we see good LMJ today.

Good job by Lance to get out of a jam there. This ump's zone is atrocious though. Lance should've been out of the inning the batter before.

damn that was pretty lucky to get out of that inning unscathed. lance needs to settle in. 2 walks, a single, a hard hit liner caught, and altuve/correa making 2 great defensive plays to prevent a crooked number.

    ump is kinda rough though...

ICYMI this is what Lance was dealing with. Really bad zone.

wow man the first 2 pitches to bregman weren't even close to strikes. super off the plate. should've been a hitter's count 2-0 instead turns into a K for bregman. unreal

Now he totally screws over Bregman with the bases loaded. First two were further off the plate than Lance's yet were called strikes. Forced Bregman into a bad count.

Why not use the technology available to call balls and strikes?

    These umps are horrible

at least the strike zone has been horrendous for both sides this series. I guess that's all you can ask for.

this game is just all sorts of wacky so far. the ump has been pretty bad, that wasn't close to a foul but i'll take it. buxton's double was pretty fortunate already.

edit: welp, buxton got third anyways. smh lance is off again.

some nasty stuff by lance to get out of a man on third, no outs. 3 K's in a row. much better but his command is still a bit off.

The missed foul call didn't end up having any impact anyway. The runner got to third anyways a couple pitches later. If he was already at third though, he wasn't going to run home on that mishandled ball that ended up getting him to third though.

yeah i know that's why i said "buxton got third anyways." it would have had an impact if the 1st or 2nd guys (castro and adrianza) were able to put the ball in play since they had 0 outs but lance made them look silly.

Lance will never be a consistent starter, he just has no control. The bullpen might be his calling.
