I'm bummed that Luc is injured but not terribly angry for him playing tonight. I think it was the right move to play the regulars tonight and play the scrubs tomorrow. Just unfortunate he injured his shoulder again.
I interpreted it as CP3 and the rest of the guys will keep the team winning until Luc returns later in the postseason.
If he is out 2 rounds, the Rockets need to be able to handle the opponent without him. Otherwise, this team ain't no contender anyway.
I will say that this injury could have happened in the first game on the 1st round. Am I upset it happened? Yes, but at least we have a 4 day head start on the healing process
Don't put too much stock into D'antoni's words. He's been optimistic on every injury we've had this season and the players have all been out much longer than his time table.
That's my consolation thought. There were 2 needlessly showy dunks, one by Luc and one by Harden. If one had to go bad, I'll take that one.
But that was because we could afford to keep them out. Ariza didn't need to miss a month. Neither did CP3. But when the team is rolling without these guys, why rush them back? The playoffs are an entirely different matter though. If Luc can play, he will.
Exactly. Given that he has had this injury before, and was vulnerable enough to repeat it tonight, there's an extremely high risk that if it hadn't happened tonight, it would happened during the playoffs. You could even argue that we should extend his absence until WCF even if we don't have to, just to reduce the total number of minutes he'd have to play during this run with the risk of reinjury.
Recurrent dislocations is a bad sign ... usually not supposed to even move the arm and have to have it in a sling for 2 weeks before you even begin PT. I don't even know how coach can say it's not as bad as last time. Even with an MRI it's hard to tell how bad it is until and unless they get in there for surgery. Who knows, maybe we will get really lucky. I doubt it though. Just had surgery 14 months ago for my recurring dislocations. I feel for ya Luc!
