He couldn't do that even before he got injured. He seemed to be developing into a reliable NBA bench player after a solid game against Davis and the Pelicans. If I recall correctly, that was the match in which he suffered the back injury which derailed his NBA career.

I think you were undervaluing Dmo that season. He was scoring at will against the best big men Defenders in the NBA.

He was essentially a better version of current Ryan Anderson .

Except his game was nothing like Ryno's.

In the 3 months that D-Mo realized his potential (where he was the 2nd best player for 1/3 of the season) he was essentially a 7 foot tall Scola. He played the P&R with Harden well, could pass out of it, and sort of a quick post move P&R big. It was alot of fun to watch, but unfortunately he got injured and there's still alot we don't know about what happened behind the scenes with his health & his exile from the NBA with whatever the hell happened with his free agency.

Hope he does make a comeback sometime in the next year or two. I'm pretty sure it won't be with Houston though.

*also BJ Armstrong might be the worst NBA agent in the history of the game. What an idiot.

Yes he could do all that but right before his injury he became a competent 3pt shooter also.

Seriously. How do you give up 30+ million guaranteed to become a UFA? What the hell did he think he was going to get paid?

ryan is much more than a competent 3pt shooter

but dmo was more fundamentally sound in other aspects of the game his passing was miles better than ryan even the ball handling and miles better post game...

their game was nothin close to similar but perhaps in value to the team if that was your idea

and dmo was an excellent clutch player in that stretch
you could give him the ball down the stretch and he would produce points out of nothing

too bad he knew his rights

DMo was nowhere near Anderson as a shooter. And Ryno is nowhere near DMo as a post player and passer. Very different players.

They both box out well though. ;)

true btw i saw flashes of good passing from ryan recently that surprised me when driving to the basket he would make a good pass to the other cutter to the rim

Then why has every single team passed on signing him? Surely one team would like an athletic 27 year old power forward.

Dmo ran the floor really well for a 7fter. And who knows how well of a 3pt shooter dmo could have been. Ryno is also very streaky and has gone on horrendously bad stretches from 3.

Davis obviously was a higher level player than most players he faced. D-Mo's main problem was rebounding and physical players. Davis is a finesse player.

There are a number of players that fit that description.

It's weird that this discussion is still going on. Playoff rosters have to be set by the 14th and in all likelihood DMo's team will still be playing in the CBA playoffs by then. So even if he wanted to sign here, which he probably wouldn't, he wouldn't be able to.
