Good outcome for that as Denver needed this to stay alive. MIN-DEN play at Minny to end the season so OKC still needs to lose at least 2 of their last 3. Need Minnesota and New Orleans to win tomorrow.
Realistic scenario where OKC could be in 9th after Saturday night. Need the following: - MIN beats the Lakers Friday - Pels win at least one vs PHX Friday or GSW Saturday - Denver beats the Clips Saturday - Houston beats OKC OKC would be tied with at least MIN and DEN, and possibly NOP and SA, but lose the tiebreaker against all of them.
If this happens, OKC can be eliminated Monday if the following happens Monday night: - OKC loses to Miami - Minnesota beats Memphis - Denver beats Portland - San Antonio beats Portland Saturday or Sacramento Monday - New Orleans wins 2 of 3 against PHX Friday, GSW Saturday, and LAC Monday Best OKC could do at that point is finish in a tie with one of the others and they lose the tiebreaker against all of them.
I don't know the tiebreaker situation, but doesn't the Nuggets win make that less likely? Now Denver and Minnesota both have 35 losses while the Thunder, Spurs, and Pelicans are all still at 34. What IS possible however is for OKC to finish 7th and get the Warriors in Round 1. The Rockets can help make that happen if they beat the Thunder tomorrow night at Toyota Center.
