The Rox need to go 3-1 to secure an 80% or better winning percentage. I don't believe it has happened very often. I hope the continue to play hard, 80 percent for the regular season is amazing. 66-16 gets us there. DD
Not as important as getting through the playoffs to the Finals. In the infamous words of @Ziggy... Next!
It would be a cool accomplishment - not many teams have won 66 or more games, or at an 80% winning percentage. Only 16 teams have done this, and 11 of them won the NBA championship.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_National_Basketball_Association_seasons DD
The counter example of the 67-win Mavs team that lost in the first round is enough for the Rockets to stay focused and hungry....nothing is guaranteed nor automatic.
Uhhhh id just be happy with a championship since 95. Let's talk about even more boring chit like rest vs rust while we set up for cruising past the first round... not the second, third, nor last round. What's also cool is that 2016 had two teams over .800. Neither team won it all.
WTF? It's the math if you win 66 you already get the 80 percent win share. Many teams have done this.
The Spurs did it two years ago and nobody cared. In fact, they got bounced in the second round badly by OKC. This situation is a little different since we'll have the best record in the league, but .800 means nothing without playoff success. Rest up for the playoffs, it's the only thing that matters.
I mean I think we can all agree: #1 = Win championship . . . . . . #2 = With as many regular season wins as possible 67-15 with a championship, including beating the stacked Warriors, would put them up there with the greatest single season teams of all time, imo.
Injuree free is all that matters..... no matter how good our record in the regular season is... "It don't mean a Thing unless you get the Ring"
I don't care at all about #2 as long as #1 is accomplished. No one looks back on the 94/95 team and thinks, "Man, I wish we won more of those regular season games."
By my calculation the Rockets are at .950 winning percentage. 40-2 when the Big 3 plays. Rockets should be 79-3 this year. Wow.
