Drex did what he could but its obvious there is still a strong media narrative about the Rockets. He said they are motivated and they have to prove their worth in the playoffs, I agree. I'm certain Drex didn't go in there thinking he would change perceptions in one segment, if anything he baited them for sound bytes to motivate the guys even more. April 15th
Clyde did fine sure, but like others pointed out he misused the quote by Rudy T though I get what he’s saying and didn’t have any real argument or reason why Tucker as a starter works well. He just started naming role players.
Clyde did ok, but there are others who could have done better there. So many things that could be pointed out. They talked a bit about the Warriors health. What about the busted up Cavs team they beat in the finals? Injuries are a part of this game. The Warriors have had a tremendous amount of luck on the injury front in their title runs. Man I hope we go out and smash teams. I want the Dubs and the Cavs on the way to a title. Everyone will still make excuses, but scoreboard will be scoreboard.
I don't mean to hijack this thread and make it into a Lebron to Houston (or not) debate... but how would that make him a bad fit? Our entire offense is based on iso ball with CP3 and James Harden alternating who will take the weaker defender off the dribble to either; 1.) score in the paint, 2.) create a 3 point shot to the wing for an assist, or 3.) take a step back with the separation they create from the three point line or the elbow. That would be the most ideal situation for Lebron if he were to be immediately plugged into this team. If he goes to LA he will have what?.... Kawhi (possibly) who creates for himself and not others, Lonzo who creates for others, and Paul George who creates for himself. Those three players need the ball to succeed and do not play in our type of system. There's no reason to think Lebron couldn't make it on our squad, especially with our style of play. We aren't the Warriors and some of y'all tend to forget that.
Watch the video No one is saying lebron isn’t a great player. After you watch the video, would you like Harden and Cp3 to be spot up shooters. Maybe he is Cp3 buddy but that doesn’t mean he won’t get into guys even when he is the one missing assignments. Have you seen the videos of him getting into with his teammates even when he was the one at fault. Also we would need to gut out the team just for one player. Only harden and Cp3 might be the only ones left. Lebron wants the max and he won’t go lower for what his camp has said. He is always looking for the best fit so he can win a chip. If he doesn’t get it here if he comes he will leave and leave us dry. He will prob ask for a no trade contract. In my opinion Paul George is a better fit.
I already watched the video. You're missing the point. The Rockets play iso ball 80% of the time. Lebron James has mainly played iso ball all his career. How would these two not fit perfectly? If Lebron to GSW would be the question then definitely not. But we're not the Warriors and do not play a Warriors player movement style offense. Our offense would be better suited for him than any other in the league. The your turn my turn style basketball is exactly what we run and it has yet to relegate either CP3 or Harden to spot up duties. Stop confusing us with the Warriors. That's not us.
It would be a debate if one were thinking of trading a prime Harden for a prime Lebron. Both warp the court so bad that they both rightfully command the ball. This system and current roster is made for either. But I can't imagine how Harden and LeBron would share the ball without diminishing either's swag. It would really up to one of them to defer or sink everything. Harden has deferred before but should Harden win MVP and more, is it really fair to ask him to do that at the expense of his legacy? If he sustains the numbers he'd racked up in the last 2 years, it'll be mental for any blowhard to talk **** about him like they do now. LeBron hasn't really taken a hit to his ego due to his age. I don't see why he would take a step back (Harden's) until he reaches Kareem status.
Now we're entering a different argument. Obviously the ego issue would on the players to hammer out if this Big 3 were formed in Houston. It would be a work in progress as was the Wade/James pairing, but with egos set aside I can't see why it wouldn't work, with our current offensive scheme... which was what was initially put in question.
I would crush Skips wrinkly soul like Johnnie C did to Marcia Clark and Christopher Darden. I’ve often said that.
It'a also not true in Harden's case 2017 - 3 seed lost to 2 seed 2016 - 8 seed lost to 1 seed 2015 - 2 seed lost to 1 seed 2014 - 4 seed lost to 5 seed, this is the only early exit 2013 - 8 seed lost to 1 seed 2012 - 1 seed lost to better record EC 1 seed in finals 2011 - 4 seed lost to 3 seed (after beating 1 seed) 2010 - 8 seed lost to 1 seed
