Harden needs to rest 1 if not 2 of the last 2 games in Cali.

He probably will assuming the Rockets do well on this homestand. D'Antoni and Harden won't admit it, but they're safeguarding his MVP trophy by running him out there right now. He can't just sit the rest of the season. That'll push him under 70 games played and that would give some Harden haters the excuse they're looking for to vote for LeBron instead.

This is why I thought Harden would play harder...because of the MVP, but the last 2 games have been **** by him. One thing I noticed is that CP3 "cruising" gives us better results than when Harden cruises through a game.

I agree. I'm sure everyone would love to sit harden right now, but he won't allow it. If he finishes these games with even average performances there's no way you can even consider anyone else for MVP.

but if he sits the last 4-5 games then that gives room for bullshit like hes been screwed over the past 2 seasons

I have a feeling CP3's injury is more a matter of MDA wanting to rest him but afraid the league office will get pissed if a star misses too many games without actually being injured.

harder for what? harden has the mvp won by a landslide. he doesn't need to prove anything these last games. even the team is already locked in with the best record

I am in the "stay sharp" camp. I do see the value of "strategic rest" for selected players. But, keep enough firepower on the court to stay focused. Winning and losing are both "habits."

I disagree in the sense that I think he'd be backing into the award. He needs all the PR he can get after being screwed over in previous years. Harden just isn't a "look at me" type of guy but it would be nice if his performance on the court could bring more attention to what a special player he is. This is just what I think.

There's literally nothing that harden doesn't have in his favor. It's more of people just being paranoid. Not liking his numbers? Scoring champ and one of the top in assists. Well he has that checked. What about his team? Best record in the league period. Check. He could play like absolute crap in these games and he'd still be MVP this year

This is the best starting five for the Rockets when healthy. I would like to see this starting line up for the playoffs.
