Like others have said, it's amazing to think Cole is our 4th starter.... Brilliant way to start your career as an Astro with 11 strike outs.
Glad we trounced these punks but they honestly look like a 90 loss team. We'll know more about our staff when we face the Indians or the Yankees.
Can't wait to see the first two home games. I expect the place will be a mad house with the banner and ring presentations. Man that would be awesome to be at! It will also be interesting to see how much home attendance improves this season.
If the amount of Astros gear being worn around the city now is any indication, I'd say that Crane and Co. are about to embark on a very lucrative season.
Our lineup is better than those two team's pitching staffs. Our pitching staff is even better than our lineup this year. I think they'll be fine. The Rangers are bad... but they'll score enough runs to keep their offense deemed respectable. They have zero starting pitching depth and even less quality bullpen depth.
Yeah. IIHC, prior to last season, Astros had gone 23-53 vs the Rangers. All-Time Record is now 68-100
Yeah...but it was against what will likely be one of the worst teams in baseball. They're staring at a 90 loss season and top 5 pick in 2019's draft. Or...I just like talking about how s***ty those fools in S. Oklahoma are.
Any one of our four horsemen could be a top of the rotation pitcher in another city. That's how I like to think of it. Rangers offense should still be potent. or are we no longer doing the wooo?
Thus why it's nice to see the 'Stros beat up on them. Here's another All-time record. Astros one WS title Rangers zero
Once the Astros get into the 3rd, 4th, and 5th starters of most teams, it’s no contest. Once they get into the bullpen too. Hitting and pitching talent oozes with this team. Barring injury, this is probably a repeat
Keuchel though hasn't looked right since his neck injury, and seems to be running more on reputation than production.
Odd...I don't remember facing them 92 games last year. Edit: And especially not going 45-47 in those 92 games.
True. He's had many great games too - including his first two postseason appearances -- so there's hope.
Oh holy **** I hate the rangers announcers. Tom Grieve and Raymond can all go straight to hell. Fastball 6 inches off the plate to Altuve: "They really need to look at that one again." [yes, I'm just now watching the game]
