he can't guard the point guard position, would struggle against the big centres as well

hes guarded both plenty of times in his career, and especially on this team. the post of him being able to guard all positions is true. thats a huge reason why hes on this team

lol this is just crazy and funny

this is what some Rockets fans do, they over rate their players like crazy

it wasn't that long ago that people were calling for PJ's head, now he finds some form and suddenly he is on Draymond's level..................absolutely crazy talk

i dont see it as crazy at all. its pretty obvious you just dont pay attention to that side of the ball. PJ has been put on every single player 1-5. theres nothing untrue about him being capable of guarding any position on the floor. Because in reality, he has played defense against all of them. Your opinion of that doesnt change that at all.

you actually sound like TheAce at the beginning of the year who had no clue who PJ was and tried to act like he did.

lol i watch every minute of Rockets games. I knew who Pj was and is, just don't over rate who he is.

he might be able to guard the rubbish point guards and rubbish centres...........he still is no Draymond Green

Stop over rating the Rockets role players

i bet you were a hardcore D Mo fan who thought he was All Star worthy

oh look another person using "overrate" And also another "I watch every minute of every game"

Theres nothing in my posts that counts as overrated. Did i say he was on DG level? nope. just because someone is able to guard all positions (which he does) does not mean hes on DG level. Actually who cares if hes on DG's actual level or not. He does what hes supposed to on this team and the results show. It really doesn't matter if you think he can't guard 1-5 or not bc again in reality he does. LMM guards all positions. Are you going to cry about "overrated" also

well then the name of the thread is wrong...he is isn't our Draymond...he is our PJ

and just for the record, i don't think there is any player in the NBA who can guard all 5 positions because to me that means they can guard every single player in the league

If your definition of guarding is shutting player X down, then nobody in the NBA can guard anybody especially with today's NBA rules. Before PJ was a rocket, there were times were he did a good job with the beard and on other games, James dominated him. Does that mean he can't defend?

Stating that somebody can defend is a relative term. We need to compare that skillset to the rest of the NBA and try to compare his effectiveness.

There have been plenty of times where they tried to post PJ with a center but what ended up happening is that the offensive player will receive the ball 15 feet away from the basket - just like what the chuckwagon did. Even if that player eventually scores, that is considered as good D.

i never said he couldn't defend. I just didn't like him being called our Draymond because they are nothing alike and Draymond is the better player

It was only a month or so ago that some people here were wondering why we got him.......now after he finds form with his three, some people start to over rate him

Not sure if it’s been mentioned yet, but Andre Iguodala was offered the exact same contract and almost took it. How much worse would we be with him (instead) this year is the question?

I love PJ, but he is no where near Green's caliber of play outside of maybe shooting a bit better. They are both versatile defensive players that can guard multiple positions, but that's really where the comparison ends. In addition to being a better defender, Green can reliably create his own shot and playmake for others. He's not anywhere near Harden or CP3 or even Curry's level, but he is still way above average at it.

I was only replying to the part where you mentioned he cannot guard 5 positions. You are free to believe that he cant, but $33M/ 3 yrs from Toronto says otherwise.

I dunno. I simply don't know. I hope PJ can. Because if he can....then we'll win the championship.

Warriors have other problems right now though. The health bug has bitten them. I like our chances a long as they're dinged and we're healthy.

But with both sides fully healthy.......I simply don't know if Tucker can handle Draymond in their small ball lineup.

Agreed. Without Curry, the whole team simply isn't great anymore. Very good still. But not great.
