Depends on where you look at it from....

BUT ABSOLUTELY it would be disappointing because Rockets are clearly the BEST TEAM IN THE NBA.

At the beginning of the season it was a different story.... but now.... anything short of a championship would be disappointing.

That's the difference between the youngsters and the longtime fans...

    The kids have confidence...

Those that have been around for decades... we have hope. :)

Except Houston was the favorite. In that series the home team was favored 5-6 points in games 1-4. Tony Parker who was their starting point guard at the time went down in the series, but did not really effect the odds. However, game 6 Kawhi was out in addition to Tony. Houston was at home and the spread was Houston being a 9 point favorite at home. In the NBA a 9 point spread is huge, in the second round of the playoffs it is massive. The previous four games Kawhi played, going into this game in Houston without the opponents best player the Rockets were a big favorite. Houston was blown out by 39 points, and the Spurs covered by 47 points. Overall it was a massive upset taking into account the spread and the fact that Kawhi being injured made the Rockets the favorites to win the series.

I think if we lose, but land Lebron that'll be a success.

As long as we don't choke, Harden having his 5-10 TOs and doing his Spurs impression for example, and make it to game 7 of the WCF against a healthy Warriors team then fine. If we face anyone else or Warriors without a healthy Curry or whatever then there's zero excuse for not making the Finals and winning it all.

As fans, we all want the Rockets to win the championship. If they don't, it will definitely feel like a failure, but in many ways, this has already been an amazing and historic season to watch. That is already a win for the fans!

For the organization, I am sure every year that they don't go all way is a failure. But even they keep things in perspective and see the victories and steps forward that the entire organization has made. Kudos to them regardless!

Its been a great regular season ride...OK, now let's go win it all!

Somebody needs to keep an eye on Harden, you know, so he doesn’t throw any games

I think not reaching finals is a failure. But if we reach WCF, while giving GS everything they can handle, then I think there can be a sliverlining going into next season. But no means can we lose to anybody but GS

If the Warriors are healthy, it wouldn't be a failure if we take them to 6 or 7 games. If they aren't, then yes it would.

For me it's Finals appearance or nothing. I can live with a bad finals if we play well on the road to the Finals.

Man it's totaly opposite.. You just can't lose finals coming out of the West during GSW era. Matter of fact you can't loose finals at any time. But this year it would mean ultimate choke job if west finalist wouldn't go all the way. Toronto is nice, Lebron is Lebron but come on man we can't lose to Kyle freakin Lowry and Jonas Valanciunas or James with random dudes

This. Just logic. Winning the championship after beating them in a 7 game series would be a terrific result, but they're still the favourites.

I get that but WCF teams are mostly gassed coming out of the Conference. That's why GSW couldn't dominate every year's Finals.

We be on steroids or immense stamina, I hope we will our way to a ship. We got several guys that are 32 or 33.

Let's be real here, if they can get it done, they gon be on cloud 9 but its not automatic.

Came in to post something similar. I said at the beginning we needed GS injuries to win it all this year. Everything is aligning just right just have to handle business.

Since the stars are aligned I will say yes not winning a chip this year would be a failure.

    Any time you don't win a championship . .. . it is a failure.

It won't be LeBrons easy path to finals this time. Eastern is weak but is leveled-out pretty much. Celtics/Raptors/Cavs/Philly/Indiana/Bucks/Heat will give hard series to each other

I'd say yes it would be a failure. Yes and no for my answer too. No because I think we're going to get some big name semi-stars or stars to improve our team. We've still got a 2-3 year good window to win in. Obviously our stars aren't getting any younger though.

Even if we were 9:1 favorites in every round, that gives us a total chance of winning the championship of 65%. It's a lot harder to get through the playoffs than most people think, even as a definitive favorite.
