The media is going to try and bait Harden to say something stupid.

All Harden needs to say is, our team is focused on winning the Championship. If we don't win, they will make fun of this quote, but this is the correct answer.

I admit I was surprised by his comments. I won't be surprised if the media screws Harden, and awards it to LBJ.

Shouldn't every MVP candidate believe they're MVP? I would think Harden, LBJ, KD/Curry, Davis, Westbrook, Lillard etc. all believe they're the MVP. LeBron just stirring the pot. Granted this year he's been much more vocal and self appreciative which is out of character from his previous years.

Of course he would, I’d vote for me as well. Not to take away from any posters on here, but in my mind I am the best.

    Go Roc Paint!

I have no problem with LeBron talking up himself.

Just to be fair, a REPORTER asked him about it. That reporter was TIM REYNOLDS.

Now, who is TIM REYNOLDS? He is an AP Reporter based out of MIAMI and is a big LEBRON fan.

So much a fan, TIM REYNOLDS was THE ONLY ONE that gave Lebron a FIRST PLACE MVP VOTE last year in the Harden/Westbrook/Kawhi race. For the record, Reynolds voted Westbrook 2nd and Harden 3rd. (results http://official.nba.com/wp-content/...-Most-Valuable-Player-of-the-Year-Award-1.pdf )

ONLY ONE WHO GAVE LEBRON A 1ST PLACE VOTE.

And now, this season Tim, asks LeBron about MVP probably knowing what he will say.

If Harden falls short of a unanimous vote total this year, it will likely be because of Tim Reynolds.

"How weak of a move was it for LeBron to join a 60+ Ws Rockets team?"
not as weak as joining a 70+ Ws team

listen i am a huge Rockets fan, have been devoted since 1991 and bleed nothing but red.. James Harden is my favourite player and the rightful MVP, but having said that Lebron James has earned the right to say what he said.. you can't argue with him, he is the best player in the league, and sometimes best players can be stuck in a bad situation, he has been to the NBA finals 8 freaking times... He won't win, but he has earned the right to say without being judged, he is closest thing to MJ that we have seen.. MJ could have said this when Karl Malone won the title and people would have agreed.. I think there is obviously a huge disparity when you factor rockets record with cleveland record.. but i think we would all agree if Lebron trades place with harden we won't see a drop off maybe slight improvement. EG would play more minutes and Lebron would play point power forward.. a line up of Paul, EG, Ariza, Lebron, Capela would be sick with ryno, Tucker, Luc and Green coming off the bench, and you stagger the minutes between James and Paul

Media- I am unsure of who to vote for. I want Westbrook to get more rebounds so we can vote him in again, but that ain't happening. All I know is I don't want Harden

    Lebron- Vote for me

Media- There you have it folks- vote for Lebron.

Lebron is saying this now because he knows Harden will go off for 50 against Phoenix Friday with 3 full days rest and consider it shut.

Long live King James..... the 2nd

So now their reasoning against Harden is that LeBron has had a higher degree of difficulty this year. With Steph it was that his team had a better record. With Russ it was the stats.

If you're keeping score at home that means to win the MVP in the media Harden would have to piss all of his teammates off so that they leave, have the team sustain a lot of injuries, still have the best record in the league all while averaging a triple double.

    Sounds simple enough.

James Harden got killed for caring about the MVP on this board by plenty of folks.

I think it's important to illustrate to people that ALL OF THESE PLAYERS CARE.

It's also interesting to me that Lebron is openly campaigning for it now. He didn't just say "Of course I think I'm the best just like all these guys do." He made an argument why he deserves it. He's campaigning for it now which will coincide with others to start openly arguing for him again.
