I like this idea. One caveat. Instead of a split MVP, we keep on with the current method and just introduce the "Best Player". Every year, the "Best Player" award will only be limited to LeBron or Westbrick. The winner and runner up will not be eligible for MVP.
If the Cavs would have a comparable record to the Rockets, then Lebron would be neck and neck with Harden, but since they are not, its basically a given Harden is going to win MVP this year. I just hope that if the Cavs and Rockets meet in the finals, Lebron doesn't go all Hakeem on Harden. But if that were to happen, the only positive would be that all these Clutchfans kids will finally realize how meaningless the regular season MVP really is.

Russell Westbrick is prime example that the narrative changes every year. I'm sure BSPN would love to deny Harden the MVP outright.
It won’t be unanimous like it absolutely should be, but Harden will win by over 90%. They just need something to talk about and they’d prefer it not be about us.
