I want to take my dad to his first rockets game since the 94-95 season. The last marquee game is Rockets Thunder, the final home game of the season. MY concern is the Rockets will have the #1 seed wrapped up and nothing really to play for. Do you think it would be wise to spend big money for this final game?
The cheapest tickets at flashseats is like 100 bucks with all the fees. I would be so pissed if I had bought tickets to the game. I went to the game last night. The arena was half empty. I can understand sitting people against the bulls. It is a Tuesday and its the bulls, but don't do it for OKC.
I think we will use this game as our final tune-up game before the playoffs. I expect everyone to play for this game. Also, I was us to beat the Thunder to set up a Warriors v Thunder 1st Round matchup. That would be a juicy series.
You may wanna wait to buy those tickets. You would think they wouldn't rest everyone given that it's a nationally televised game on primetime Saturday night, but at the same time, they will have literally nothing to play for in that one. Ironically, they may want OKC to win that game so there's a lesser chance the Thunder slip to 8th.
Agree. The best outcome for the Rockets is: Round 1 - GSW vs OKC Round 2 - GSW vs Portland Round 3 - GSW vs HOU (with us having HCA) Couldnt lay it out better than that.
I went to the Bulls game yesterday, it's still fun. Good chance OKC will be resting theirs to if their seed is locked. Would still be fun to see.
There will be weekend games to choose from. I wouldn't take a chance on any regular season game at this point. Plus, a playoff game atmosphere would bring him right back to the 94/95 season.
No chance of the Thunder resting players. This is who they play prior to us: @sas DEN @NOP GSW None of those are gimmes. Every team other than the Warriors will be trying to secure a playoff spot. And Golden State will have Durant and Green back and will be somewhat motivated to win since they do want homecourt in the Finals over the Raptors. So odds are good that the Thunder will want to win that game at Toyota Center.
Maybe it all comes down to if us beating OKC could maybe put them in the 8th seed. If that is the case, I say rest Harden, Clint, and Paul. Let the others share minutes. Even if we play them we will have the time to rest before the playoffs.
