I find it interesting that even those from the left think repealing the 2nd amendment would be outlandish.

I studied comparative constitutional law, a long time ago.

On a global level, your 2nd amendment is not "normal", although y'all seem to think so. It is the exception, not the rule, if you look at other constitutions.

Oh...get over yourself. You left a comment hanging (not sure what you meant by 'completed that') and I made what others seemingly took as a joking comment.

Do you realize that this was your post?

Do you guys realize repealing an amendment requires

I am waiting to see what we should realize.

Well there are a lot of them that say that they find it outlandish because they know they'd lose people by expressing their true beliefs. They would prefer instead to pretend to support civil rights while actively undercutting them whenever possible till the rights are so diluted that they have no meaning anymore.

So it's not that those on the authoritarian left in the US don't want to strip constitutionally protected civil rights from the people, they just know that the only way they can accomplish that goal is by doing it one step at a time.

Also, I should mention that there is a libertarian left, and while they might agree on some things with the authoritarian left, stripping rights from the people isn't one of those things.

This could be a new horror movie, like "It Follows," but with bureaucracy as the monster. :D

Another thing I find interesting is that there is huge overlap between being conservative and pro-guns. Again, I believe that that is unique to the USA. I'm a "pro-freedoms" conservative, and I think y'all are collectively batsh!t crazy when it comes to guns.

What you perceive as normal doesn't appear normal to the rest of the civilized Western world. (Same goes for the death penalty, by the way.)

Please don't take this as smartass lecturing. Just some outside perspective.

Having gone to the moon, not needing to be bailed out when Germany looks to take over time and time again, and having a 19 trillion dollar GDP also doesn't appear normal to the rest of the civilized Western world....but we don't hold it against them.

“Old man”? Again? Oh well....I guess I am older than you. Anyway, still waiting to see what repealing an amendment requires and what “completing that” meant.

I don't think the 2nd amendment needs to be repealed - nothing about it guarantees someone the right to own a weapon capable of inflicting catastrophic wounds on dozens of people in seconds.

Get rid of automatic and any other rifle capable of being able to rapidly murder a group of people in seconds. Make owning guns something that requires a freaking sanity test

I don't care for banning guns. I just want some gun control so people getting mowed down isn't a biweekly event.

How's that for slippery slope, assholes?

In my High School days when dinosaurs ruled the earth, I did a pretty good impression of Neil Young singing that song.

<insert buzzer noise> wrong answer. The 18th amendment was repealed by the 21st.

Repealing amendments happens less than large movie studios greenlighting black blockbuster movies
