Why would you think this would be safe?

It's disturbing that they can open this slide to the public while ignoring all the safety standards. Any amusement park goer assumes these rides are engineered with safety in mind. I always did feel less confident in water rides compared to roller coasters, though.

One time at splashtown the operator didn't tell me to close my legs and my nuts felt the wrath of 200 mph water splashing for what it felt like an eternity. Worst feeling ever. It's the ride where you are enclosed in a capsule and the floor drops.

I remember being way too young there and going to the tall slide. I wanted to change my mind and not go down it. But did not want to suffer the embarrassment of going back through the line and have people look at me. I was terrified.

As I got older I have done a bunch of crazy stuff. Not sure if I was ever as scared as that day though haha

I'm deathly afraid of heights. Well, it's not so much the fear of being up high as it is falling. I do not do roller coasters. I'll begrudgingly do some water slides. Mostly it's when I get badgered by my wife and kids to participate if we're at Splashtown or Typhoon Texas.

I had a hard time even watching these videos.

pretty much why i don't get on the rides at carnivals/rodeo or any of these amusement parks. you are assuming the people who put this stuff up actually care if something happens to you...i mean after all you sign a bunch of ****.

even zip lining..i do it but you always have to think about the consequences.

The one that you "hold on to your ass, hold onto your sled" off of the roof at the Original Schlitterbahn is awesome (at least it was when I was 8).

If I need any of that other stuff, I'll just go cliff jumping or rope swinging or whitewater rafting.

"Schlitterbahn" sounds like something you would name a concentration camp in Germany.
