They like the headline of a big 3 going up against a big 4. The rockets are like a reliable high performing Lexus right now. Media wants a noisy turbo charged rice rocket whose parts take months to replace and fit.
So far, MDA has not done a good job resting Harden. 2016-17 average was 36.4 minutes per game and this year it is 35.5. Less than 1 minute per game!
i never count out anything until it is done and they get players back this week. But having said that, it is up to us to put it away
If he was out of energy in the playoffs at 36 minutes, you think 35 is going to make a difference? Would have been nice to be at 30 to 32 minutes average especially with our bench depth.
he has never had the help he has had now and it isn't how many minutes he plays that really matters. It is what he has to do on the court. When Paul is out there with him, he can rest on some offensive plays now and let Paul do the work. It is easy for him to get rest while still playing. He is playing his lowest minute total as a Rocket anyway at 35.5.......he was 38mpg 2 seasons ago he can handle it easily
I agree wholeheartedly... When i make that point I get the "he doesn't have to work as hard on carrying the offense this year..." but CP3 has missed games - so James' load went right back to last year on those occassions... AND James is playing decent defense this year - so he's contributing on BOTH ends of the court (kudos to him btw)... so carrying less of the offensive burden - but doing more on defense... I don't think 1 minute a night is going to be a difference maker... We got the #1 seed all but sewn up... anything beyond that in the regular season is just posturing - and I'd rather use that energy in the playoffs!
sit his ass for 2 weeks except against OKC. Play him 48 minutes to stat pads like Russ and to stick it to Russ
I think Bullard mentioned Capela was getting garbage minutes in that blowout because mda wanted his conditioning to improve for the playoffs Call me greedy and risky but giving the spurs a workout should keep that knife sharpened.
Only if CP3 is playing. I don't think any games remaining should have both of them out until the #1 record is officially clinched.
I'm unhappy that the Prince has yet to recover from tendinitis. A well deserved rest for the upcoming MVP and Capela is welcomed. I hope CP3 will be fit and ready for this game. Go Houston Rockets!
