He strained his medial qualabrum. Oops. ETA: '85 WS game 2 is on espn classic, this is the first series I really remember watching start to finish. I had no idea I needed to start hating the Cards that early in my life, I actually loved 'em back then. Jose Oquendo and Jack Clark were my boys.
Wowww please be true. Even if it's just for the Rangers matchups lol. Not sure what he has left in the tank at this point
No. He lives in Tampa and wants to play there. There is nothing on the interweb connecting him to Houston.
some lady reporter mentioned he agreed with the astros on twitter.. So not sure (Would be a good move for him) so i dont see why he wouldnt play for the Astros (I just dont know how credible the reporter is (It was in spanish)
Bautista is done, the age combined with a clear downward trajectory in peripherals and raw numbers. It would take a near minimum deal for any team to take a chance on him, and I can't for the life of me see that club being the Astros.
I could see him taking a minor league deal, if he mashes AAA and if Fisher/Kemp don’t hit, call him up. Could also see them giving him a $1M mlb deal and 200 PA test drive.
J.D. Davis and Derek Fisher have made the Astros' Opening Day roster. Tyler White and Tony Kemp were option to Triple-A. 25-man roster is set Of the 25 players to make the Astros' Opening Day roster, 17 were on the team's roster to start 2017. Those who weren't on it last year are Stassi, Davis, Fisher, Verlander, Cole, Smith, Rondon and McHugh, who was hurt to start last year. Here are the 8 players who were on the Astros' Opening Day roster last year but not this year: Musgrove, Gurriel (suspended), Aoki, Beltran, Feliz, Fiers, Gregerson and Gustave.
Generally speaking, the players not on the OD roster this year are ones who needed to go, and generally speaking, the new faces on the roster are improvements over the players they are replacing. Bodes well for 2018.
Stassi : Beltran Davis : Gurriel Fisher : Aoki Verlander : Fiers Cole : Musgrove Smith : Gregerson Rondon : Gustave McHugh : Feliz When you look at it like that, this team is quite a bit better than last years team. Davis/Gurriel is the only one who can be argued as a downgrade and that will be for a handful of games.
At best, Stassi over Beltran is an incomplete. But I will admit that Stassi is clearly a better defensive catcher than Beltran.
