Rachel Nichols: "Don't bother to argue over MVP. That conversation is closed."

I don't think there is anything really that meaningful with being "unanimous" MVP. C'mon, no one looks back and counts their vote totals. How many people remember how many votes Hakeem didn't get?

 

I gotta a thing for Rachel Nichols and with her backing up harden for mvp throughout the season turns me on even more.

yeah, I think fans need to chill on this unanimous thing. Reason being is, for some reason, the NBA does not vote unanimously like MLB does.

Curry is the *only* unanimous selection in NBA history, and a lot of that was the 73 wins. Jordan never got unanimous????

By comparison, MLB has had 7 unanimous selections since 1992 alone.

 

LeBron is arguably the best players in the league, but he shouldn't be in the top 3 mvp candidates, the Cavs are horrible.

Maybe when he wants to be, but Harden is absolutely the best player right now. Lebron had long stretches of the season where he was an atrocious defender (way worse than Harden) and where he has lost his locker room. I'll take the guy that brings it every night

the point of saying that Harden should be unanimous is to illustrate how much of a wrap this thing is...to show how no one has anything resembling a credible case over him...to show that Harden has already finished the race and is chilling while the rest of the competition still has 3 laps left

if Harden doesn’t win it unanimously then ok...he probably won’t because there’s always gonna be that guy that decides to waste a vote on Lebron or AD, but objectively speaking, Harden should receive every single 1st place vote available

 

Unfortunately there are many Harden and Rockets haters out there.

 

Agree, LeBron more athletic than harden which gives him some advantages over harden, like the defensive end, but the way harden is forming into the player the he is right now is really scary, the guy is becoming a ****ing monster, if he gets 2+ rings and stays consistent throughout his career he has the chance to be on the top 10 list of all-time.

 

It will be a landslide - which is good enough. I mean you are talking about votes from media people, not coaches or players who know more about the game.

Harden will be MVP. There is no competition. Even other coaches with supposed mvp candidates say it's over.

 

I think ALL the hatred toward Harden has made this MVP season special. It's like the media made him earn it! To me , Harden should look back and probably appreciate it even more. He truly truly earned this award and the recognition... No top tier player has had to reinvent himself to the media out of pure hatred... Yeah Lebron did too via the Decision, but cmon we knew he would be aight soon thereafter.....

 

I hope they will hand out the awards during the playoffs. The award show last year was just awful.
