I won't try to conjecture on what Royce does actually have, but I'm pretty sure it's more than he's Tweeting about. That dude has problems, and he has some advisors that aren't helping.

Depression/anxiety are also extremely common (though that makes them no less insidious). Heck, Kevin Love just opened up about it recently. Yet, we aren't all marching around demanding unnecessary societal change and demanding special treatment.

Alright, I'm done ranting. I respected this guy a lot for about 2 weeks after he was drafted. At this point, he's just doing damage towards his own cause.

Did we not also give him a bus that he used to pick up a girl and impregnate? That happened didn't it?

i'm trying my best to understand why he's angry at the Rockets. Is there anything we did wrong? Why isn't this a case of ...well it just didn't work out? He's not alleging that we torpedoed his chances with other teams, is he? why does it have to be a case of nefarious behavior? i'd really like to understand if there is anything legitimate in White's accusations; certainly this was a first of its kind situation. I'm just curious to understand what his beef is?

There's no way the org did anything to undermine his chances to succeed. it was in the org's best interest to see White succeed. Just trying to resist the temptation to chalk the whole thing up to White being mentally unstable, but ...the simplest explanation tends....

Exactly. Or, as I would have put it: F%#k Royce White.

I understand that not every human is alike, and that some of us have a valid need for special accommodations. In the area of professional athletes, that becomes difficult. But the bottom line is that, while you may expect a certain degree of assistance in creating a workplace environment that conforms to your special needs, you shouldn't expect to have EVERY SINGLE REQUEST met. Especially if you're being a dick about it during the negotiations.

    So yeah, f%#k Royce White.

Seriously? As if you had anything to do with anything, except for providing a great forum for a few thousand (OK, now it's many thousands!) Rockets fans to talk about the team, the coaching staff, the organization, and the one thing that I'm sure White remembers, individual players. My thoughts? I knew he'd run out of money sooner or later. White's having money withdrawal! (and he probably stopped taking his meds)

Right on. I have an old friend, @Will, who has battled with similar issues for years. I actually have a certain amount of sympathy for White, but being an "enabler" isn't the greatest idea, either. The meds can do a heck of a lot. The problem is that he always, at some point, stops taking the meds, "because I don't need them anymore." He does, of course. In his case, he eventually does something stupid enough that he gets back on them. It can be a bit worrisome, to put it mildly.

What a dark time for the Rockets.

The team was so mediocre that they were looking for any semblance of a superstar trait.

Took Marcus Morris over Kawhi because Marcus showed more offensive talent, especially in 1v1 situations.

Traded Mirotic’s rights to get D-Mo, who many said had top 5 talent. While he turned out to be a good player, it took him over a year to get NBA ready and he was out of the league soon after. Mirotic is still a very productive NBA player.

Took Royce, who had so much baggage, all because he had top 5 talent.

Can’t really fault Morey on any of those mid-1st pick. All you can really expect from late lottery picks are serviceable role / fringe starters.

We drafted 2 PFs that draft... and neither of them was Draymond Green and both were busts.

He can hire world class therapists, psychiatrists, psychologists, etc... but it won't be worth a dime if he can't stop lying to them and hold himself more accountable.

The one thing I learned about anxiety in the year or so that i had it consistently, is that the world keeps moving on. You still have to get up for work, you still have to go to class, the world does not baby you because you have a mental disorder. Whether that’s ethical or not is another discussion, but it’s the reality. The more i understood that and the busier I got, the more my anciety receeded.

Royce is someone who has/had talent and forced an organization to baby him, when the Rockets decided enough was enough, he threw a tantrum and blamed the Rockets.

With or without the anxiety, Royce is a weak human being with a ton of other problems he needs to get treated for. He needs to get off twitter and get the help he needs.

This is exactly what it is! Royce wanted to be the face of "mental health" in the NBA and leveraged his career over it.

Too bad he couldn't just #BeWell and ball for a few years and then slowly start talking about it.

Feel bad for the mental issues...

but his attitude wipes all that away.

I truly believe him when he says he is mentally ill.

The Rockets made a mistake in thinking that his mental illness would somehow be compatible with the demands of the NBA. I don't think people should be upset with Royce White - because the dude has mental problems - that's not his fault. His inability to see reality isn't his fault either.

The fault was in drafting him in the first place - nothing else. The guy simply does not belong in the NBA.

Every patient is different. A prior experience doesn’t set the rules for his.

    ( devil’s advocate)

Let him know that he's taken over the mantle long held by ex-Rocket Kelvin Cato.

I don't think there is evidence to support this idea. Your personal experiences with Royce White are irrelevant.

LOL, Royce White. The name in and of itself is a joke.

Round and round his bang bus goes.
