Yeah, theres a thin line between sticking up for your teammates and doing something foolish, this was foolish. This was probably the most in control I have seen him since he got here, he was playing very well..and he got himself ejected, and possibly suspended.
Exactly!! If Green gets suspended then something is wrong.. Unless they say Green pushed someone in the crowd with the fans is worse compared to 2 guys literally targeting a player to take him out...
Love Double G but that was an incredibly idiotic thing to do. I understand sticking up for your teammates but you can push a guy into the stands, you cannot put fans at risk. I wouldn't be surprised if he's not only suspended but fined. Every championship team needs its knucklehead but there's a time and a place, last night was neither
If fans were truly at risk as a result of whatever may happen on the court, then it's on the NBA should someone actually get hurt, as they should have no business selling tickets there in the first place.
I understand what your saying but sometimes there is a time an place to set the tone.. An that was it in my opinion. I feel that's what this team was lacking last year, also I don't buy what MDA says to the media, I'm positive it was completely different then what he said to GG and the team in private. In CP3 documentary he did with Jay-Z on his desicion to join the Rockets he mentioned being a brotherhood and together, an that's what he said was missing with the Clippers team. I'm sure his teammate had no issues with it, that's what matters the most to me in the end of the day.
How big strong and heavy is dieng? I doubt greens push could have sent him falling to the front rows without any embelishment or exaggeration from him
That green push immediately after dieng pushed cp3 to the ground aint no knucklehead move like dudleys or chriss or dmc or green or zaza done in the past
Easy to see that Dieng player was picking on someone smaller than him. Refs were not going to do enough in terms of reversing that intimidation psyche thing. Rockets could do like baseball and have the pitcher hit their batter after their pitcher hit our batter; or just cut thru the chase and push Dieng harder than Dieng pushed CP3. The going thru secret tunnels and opening up a can of whop-ass is always an ace in the hole at our disposal. Lol
To be fair, Dieng barely tapped Paul, and Paul flopped it up like he was thrown to the ground. I'm honestly surprised he even got a technical for that. Green reacted as if Dieng had just punched Paul in the mouth. Come on people, get civilized. The refs are there to take actions, and fighting isn't the answer to anything. Nobody needs to "Have someone's back". These guys aren't on a back street in a seedy part of town, getting robbed or beat down, and needing protection. Nobody is gonna get a bottle cracked over their head or a bullet in their back. The whole thing was over the top.
yep green should have watched the replay first before doing anything just like in the playoffs when dray kicks hardens nuts or zaza falls on cp3, green & company should just stay put and watch the replay first
In this instance WWMMD (What would Mad Max do)? Maxwell would have done more than just push him. Every Championship team needs THAT guy and Green is THAT guy the Rockets! Like Draymond is THAT guy for the Warriors and JR Smith is THAT guy for the Cavs. I'm sure behind the scenes, MDA loves it. The lineup he ran with last night is the lineup he needs to take into the playoffs and GREEN NEEDS TO BE APART OF THAT ROTATION.
Loved it. Regardless of whether or not CP3 flopped on the Dieng push, you gotta have someone stand up for your best players and have their back. Green is a fringe rotation player so he's the ideal guy to do this. If he gets suspended a game or two, who cares? I guarantee every one of his teammates loved it, and CP3 already said he'd pay whatever fine he gets. If MDA can't see that this sort of behavior increases camaraderie, moral and togetherness, then that's too bad. Make teams think twice before messing with our best players.
