You are deflecting. But in case you aren't... let's be clear. Are you or are you not defending Trump's position (very like that of Nixon) that the investigation is a "witch hunt"?
I've never spoken about Trump calling the investigation a 'witch hunt'. But if you are curious i agree with Trump's claim. It wasn't a complicated question. TO what would you like me to respond to?
Thanks for answering. We know what the Watergate investigation found. B-Bob's comment is that most Republican had a positive approval rating for Nixon and I would guess agreed with his "witch hunt" claim. If Nixon has gotten away with ending the investigation, we would not ever know about the abuse of power and criminal acts. Good thing he didn't get away with it, and the investigation was allowed to continue. The result is the resignation of Nixon and Congress passing the Privacy Act to protect individuals personal data. History is somewhat repeating. Most on the right has a positive approval rating for Trump and I would guess, like you, most on the right agree to the "witch hunt" claim by Trump. Trump has been urging and if he does get his way and got Mueller fired, and get away with it, we may never find out the conclusion of the investigation. You may be right that Trump didn't do anything wrong, and you may be wrong, as many were during Nixon time. We know that we cannot know unless the investigation is allowed to conclude.
You could justify the investigation going on forever and investigating whatever by this logic. 'If we don;t we may never find out about some bad things'. If Trump was a regular citizen this would easily be harassment.
That’s really not how investigations work. Given what it has uncovered so far, why would you be opposed to it continuing? Is it just because it is your guy/party that is the focus of it? Why are people opposed to uncovering the truth?
NO its not. You don't get to dig into every aspect of someone's life without some kind of proof they committed a crime. So far there is nothing. What you are describing is what every single police state novel warns about. why don;t you tell me whats been uncovered so far. Whats the most meaningful thing you think Mueller has found so far? Trump aint my guy. Go study the stasi secret police. great movie about them. 'Why would people be against the truth?'. good grief. in what way? what act are you saying would constitute obstruction of justice?
The problem is @tallanvor is either intellectually dishonest or he's just not intelligent. I tend to give him the benefit of the doubt that his conservative DNA blinds him to simple truths. Let me help you out -- you don't need "proof" to investigate something, you need a reasonable suspicion. You don't start investigations with "proof," you investigate the matter to determine the facts as they were. What's been uncovered so far? Well so far there has been 4+ Americans indicted, including President Trump's campaign chair, campaign aide, national security advisor, and foreign policy advisor. Did you miss those or are you just choosing to ignore them? The point of the investigation isn't to "prove" Donald Trump colluded with Russia. The point is to look into the Russian interference in our election, including any links or coordination between the Russian government and the Trump campaign. The Special Counsel has already brought indictments against at least two Trump campaign workers, but we still have people like you asking "what has it uncovered? nothing! end it!" It's just flat out nonsense and flies in the face of reality. Republican or Democrat, you should want Mueller to go after every bad actor involved in Russia's interference.
what an admission ! lol, one of the best eg of give the obtuse / argumentative fool some rope and, invariably, he ends up hanging himself. a crime is a crime !
"Meaningful crimes". Funny you set such a bar. I wonder why? But since you asked. The list of known indictments: https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2018/2/20/17031772/mueller-indictments-grand-jury And... it appears there are seven sealed indictments... so we will have to wait to find out about those (perhaps Mueller filed those in case trump tries to obstruct further). Also interesting to see how Mueller's line of indictments have followed closer and closer to trump (people whose testimony is needed to understand higher in the administration). Did this help?
Also, since Mueller has a top target, he is willing to lessen indictments in return for some snitching. Tallnover is either being purposefully obtuse or really is an idiot to pretend that he is this naive on such a basic tactic used by investigators since the beginning of common law .
I have yet to see anywhere where McCabe leaked to the media. His conversations with the press are part of his role. What was the leak? Making things up is not going to save Trump here.
Yet that is exactly what trump thinks will save him. He has lied his entire life. He can't seem to make it through a day without telling a lie. It's really rather remarkable. Almost as remarkable as those who are busy digging themselves a hole here in D&D. A hole that will be difficult to emerge from with any integrity left at all in their continued attempts to defend the fellow. A fellow some still pretend not to have voted for.
Oh, so you are the judge of what crimes are meaningful or not? Do you not believe that people should be accountable for the crimes they've committed?
