Meh. He has upside but there's a reason he wasn't playing much with Bucs. In fact, I think he's one of those TE's that catches the injury bug quite often.

Jags spending money, good. Ups comp in division that's only getting better.

Colvin/Robinson/Ivory are kind of big losses. Maybe not so much on Ivory but... Hayden/Moncrief as replacements? Ok... they got a downgrade.

Norwell is the only clear upgrade.

Agree with you on it being much easier to find a OG. I liked Hubbard a lot too.

At this point I think putting the cap space to build an elite defense is the way I would go. Then draft offense.

They did fine without Robinson last year. Montcrief is just extra. Hayden is a downgrade but he can still play. And they still have draft picks.

The point is they were able to get Norwell and still sign players. Some on here make it seem like if the Texans signed Norwell or Solder then they wouldn't be able to sign anybody else.

The moves the Texans aren't making this off season do not bother me...

It's 2 moves they made with their own players the last year that is really annoying. Malcom Butler received more guaranteed money than AJ Bouye. I have no problem passing on Butler... but we should still have Bouye.

Then Nate Solder gets 15 million a year??? Makes the 9.75 million that Duane Brown wanted guaranteed look pretty damn cheap.

If we still had Brown and Bouye the moves we have made would be fine. Maybe add a safety and one more OL. However, we still don't have a legit starter at either tackle position and we just signed a bunch of guards to compete with Jeff Allen, Greg Mancz, and Quessenberry? Sounds like Deshaun Watson might be killed.

Robinson is a monster talent, but he played 2 plays in 2017. I wouldn't say they downgraded when Robinson wasn't even a part of the AFC finalist squad.

Agree 100% just don't think you have to spend it all this year. One more good DB and I'll be as happy as I can be knowing we can't fix OL this year. Save some bullets for next year and re-sign Clowny.

Of course, we still have around 50 million in cap after all the signings. Norwell was definitely in range and would have been good, but that's not the case. Jags have been on a spending spree. Time will tell if Jags can stay consistent.

Super talented. Guess injury scared them off. Once he left, I think they just used that money on Norwell as big price spend.

I think they got a little worse though. They are one Bortles injury away from mediocrity (maybe not this because of a great D) and losing Colvin was kind of significant.

Brown didn't want to play here. He has said since it wasn't all about the money. And he still ain't getting the money, Seahawks haven't guaranteed his contract. He might actually be a cap casualty.

Texans felt Kevin Johnson could do what AJ Bouye was doing. For what its worth, KJ was outplaying (by PFF grading) Bouye before he got injured during the Bouye breakout year. They were wrong on that. And you can't make it up; but they got 2 3rd rounders and a 2nd rounder out of both players. And they have the cap space to make a major move now.

If the talent is there in FA then I would spend the money. Iwant a top S (Mathieu/Boston) and another CB Gaines. I think there's plenty of cap room that will be left over.

Best point here is that the Jags still have draft picks. Still pissed off about giving away our 2nd to get rid of Oswipe. Thought it was stupid at the time, while Bob was proclaiming the "genius" of Rick Smith to come up with such an innovative way to free up cap space (that we didn't use). Bob hanging on to Rick is the real problem in this organization. Sure hope he got it right with Gaine.

And what tackle on the market is as good as Brown and what corner available is as good as Bouye? Brown didn't demand a trade at first. He wanted this coming seasons contract guaranteed because he was worried about injury. Then he got mad because the Texans didn't budge and he wanted out.

Of course this is hindsight and the Texans thought KJ could step in for Bouye but he can't stay on the field and when he is on the field his play has gotten worse.

IMO the primary targets should be Gaines, Mathieu, and Crabtree. The team should outbid everyone for those 3 and then look to extend Clowney and pick up some OT depth and maybe a TE.

I think that trade was to make cap space to show Tony Romo that they were serious. It didn't work out but they were still able to get their franchise QB a month later in the draft.

And all those teams you named added players not just 1 or 2 one would like to think that signing 3 new O-lineman is a start.
