The Manafort indictment alone and the guilty pleas have been worth the special counsel.

Think about all the light being shown on how foreign money is entering our political sphere. Manaforts case alone in a vacuum will help lawmakers (when Democrats get back in office of course) write laws to protect our elections from paid off foreign agents getting their claws in a major campaign like Manafort did. It should scare everyone (Especially loyal Trump fans) how close this guy got to a presidential candidate. This alone was a really big case in a vacuum that will mean a lot for years to come.

Then there is the lying to the FBI (which we know isn’t the only reason they got plea deals but again we’ll just view in a vacuum). With the truth being so obtuse these days it’s important to reinforce the rule of law with politicians so they can be held accountable for the truth and to ensure there is an independence and respect that law enforcement be given.

I doubt Mueller is done but even then with what he has now he’s already proven his worth to our democracy. If you think he hasn’t than you just don’t care about our country that much of you don’t care about protecting our elections.

It's really kind of mind-boggling that people like Aceshigh actually exist.

Even my MAGA hat having old relative has put the hat away and said, "**** this guy".

Speaking of hats, it's been way too long since I've had a proper color update. Who wears what now?

I think Trump would get away with firing Mueller. There would be a certain level of outrage but at the end of the day he would get away with it.

Honestly, the Muller investigation has already been proven to be a justified undertaking.

There have so far been over 20 indictments and several guilty pleas.

The campaign Manager for Trump faces 305 years in prison with serious charges. It came out that he has been under criminal investigation since 2014 but the President felt comfortable having him run his campaign.

The National Security Adviser to Trump has plead guilty to felony.

A Foreign Campaign Adviser to Trump has plead guilty to a felony.

Another campaign Adviser to Trump has plead guilty to a felony.

There has been a lot of criminal behavior uncovered surrounding the President and the investigation isn't complete.

The whole purpose of this wasn't to find a way to impeach the President just to do so. The purpose was to have an investigation based on credible information and quite frankly the investigation thus far has uncovered wide spread corruption in the Trump administration.

I for one hope the investigation shows that there was no collusion between the White House and Russian interests. It isn't good for our country.

At this point I am disgusted at the level of corruption surrounding this administration, based on what has been uncovered. Hopefully this investigation will make future administrations think twice.

Mueller Subpoenas Trump Organization, Demanding Documents About Russia
    https://www.nytimes.com/2018/03/15/us/politics/trump-organization-subpoena-mueller-russia.html

WASHINGTON — The special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, has subpoenaed the Trump Organization to turn over documents, including some related to Russia, according to two people briefed on the matter. The order is the first known time that the special counsel demanded documents directly related to President Trump’s businesses, bringing the investigation closer to the president.

The breadth of the subpoena was not clear, nor was it clear why Mr. Mueller issued it instead of simply asking for the documents from the company, an umbrella organization that oversees Mr. Trump’s business ventures. In the subpoena, delivered in recent weeks, Mr. Mueller ordered the Trump Organization to hand over all documents related to Russia and other topics he is investigating, the people said.

The subpoena is the latest indication that the investigation, which Mr. Trump’s lawyers once regularly assured him would be completed by now, will drag on for at least several more months. Word of the subpoena comes as Mr. Mueller appears to be broadening his investigation to examine the role foreign money may have played in funding Mr. Trump’s political activities. In recent weeks, Mr. Mueller’s investigators have questioned witnesses, including an adviser to the United Arab Emirates, about the flow of Emirati money into the United States.

The Trump Organization has said that it never had real estate holdings in Russia, but witnesses recently interviewed by Mr. Mueller have been asked about a possible real estate deal in Moscow. In 2015, a longtime business associate of Mr. Trump’s emailed Mr. Trump’s lawyer Michael Cohen at his Trump Organization account claiming he had ties to President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia and said that building a Trump Tower in Moscow would help Mr. Trump’s presidential campaign.

Mr. Trump signed a nonbinding “letter of intent” for the project in 2015 and discussed it three times with Mr. Cohen.

Mr. Mueller could run afoul of a red line the president has warned him not to cross. Though it is not clear how much of the subpoena is related to Mr. Trump’s business beyond ties to Russia, Mr. Trump said in an interview with The New York Times in July that the special counsel would be crossing a “red line” if he looked into his family’s finances beyond any relationship with Russia. The president declined to say how he would respond if he concluded that the special counsel had crossed that line.

A month before Mr. Trump spoke of his red line, the White House counsel, Donald F. McGahn II, threatened to quit after Mr. Trump asked him to have Mr. Mueller fired because the president believed he had conflict-of-interest issues that precluded him from running the special counsel investigation.

Mr. Mueller was appointed in May to investigate whether Mr. Trump’s campaign colluded with the Russians to influence the 2016 presidential election and any other matters that may arise from the inquiry. He is also examining whether the president has tried to obstruct the investigation.

Mr. Trump’s lawyers are in negotiations with Mr. Mueller’s office about whether and how to allow his investigators to interview the president. Mr. Mueller’s office has shared topics they want to discuss with the president, according to two people familiar with the talks. The lawyers have advisedMr. Trump to refuse an interview but the president wants to do it, as he believes he has done nothing wrong and can easily answer investigators’ questions.

At the same time, Mr. Trump is considering whether to bring on a new lawyer to help represent him in the special counsel’s investigation. Last week, Mr. Trump spoke with Emmet Flood, a longtime Washington lawyer who represented former President Bill Clinton during the impeachment process, about coming into the White House to deal with the inquiry.

Ahh. More unnamed sources. But the Mueller investigation doesn’t leak. Fchowd0311 assured us that was the case.

The Mueller investigation leaks like a sieve.

The leaks may very well be coming from those people served with the subpoenas/called before the grand jury and people connected to those persons. And this is most likely the case. The article specifically says "two people briefed on the matter" are the leakers. The closer this investigation has gotten to Trump, the more leaks we have seen. Note that Maggie Haberman is on the byline. She has a direct line to the Trump family and often runs stories that outline the Trump perspective on a story. Anything with Haberman involved we can read as having sources from the Trump family, the White House, or people connected to them.

Regardless, given that Trump wants very much to end this investigation, it would likely be a good strategy to leak enough to let the public know the investigation is closing in so that the public knows how much to be outraged if/when Trump goes full on Saturday Night Massacre.

But you told me this was a nothingburger, snowflake? Could it be that you hitched your wagon to a ludicrously unpopular, unprepared, unintelligent and corrupt carnival barker just because he made you feel good?

    I gotta say this:

...Where the hell is Oliver North when you need him? Or "Scooter" Libby, even?

...didn't North's wagging-of-the-finger and bowing-of-his-chest at the Iran-Contra investigation do just enough to get Saint Ronnie-of-Reagan off for peddling arms backdoor to terrorists (or freedom-fighters, whatever works for you), to fight the Russians of all people...?

...if the Republicans are going to bat like this for the Donald (calling their own sham congressional investigations shams and whatnot), shouldn't there be a stand-up fall guy here somewhere?

One would almost be inclined to think someone doesn't know their history.

I mean if you're going to repeat history and all, do it with gusto...

Give me #MAGA or give me death!

Gee, wonder if there is any connection? And odd that the republican House Intelligence Committee report missed this minor detail...

Trump Organization 'negotiated with sanctioned Russian bank in 2016'

Nope, that would cross a line that the Senate put down, he would immediately face impeachement and has been told as such.
