I'm only realizing now how much Vietnam drastically altered our relationship with the military from it being a near universal experience to being only a small segment of the population. Both politicians and the general population seem more war hungry and trigger happy than every as military participation rates go down (and will continue to go down with increased obesity, opiod usage and a good economy).
We should shrink the military, there is no need to keep a huge standing army with no other war to fight.....we should cut the budget by at least 50% and focus on infastructure like the rest of the world is doing. We are not a on a war footing, nor should we be.... DD
Obviously, you aren’t forward thinking. Space war is coming. Need to boost military spending by at least 2x.
