"Texans making a serious run at X" headlines remind me of all the Morey failed deadline moves headlines

Exactly what I was thinking. Lol. Bazemore. Iggy etc.

We have been interested in every free agent. Gaines is still negotiationing for 6th string Chiefs O Lineman.

So, 2 years ago we got rid of Case to sign crock assweiler, only to see us trade him with a 2nd rounder just to get rid of him, see him get traded back to Denver for a bench role, then see Denver sign Case to start in front of him..... LMAO. I blame both ricky smits and billy o bean. What a cluster****.

And it was all worthwhile since it led to the Texans getting Watson.

Was it worth the year we actually had a chance to beat the Patriots in the playoffs and get to the superbowl?

That rebuilding had a lot of missed draft picks and dud free agents. Also a lot of years being one of the worst teams in the league. Honestly, take the pass rush that Campbell helped provide and the hiring of Coughlin and they are a .500 team.

I just hope the Texans, with this McNair fiasco, don't become the team that has to overpay to convince players to sign.

Well, look at the coaches he's had to deal with. You have a Gary Kubiak who didn't want to play him over loyalty to Matt Schaub.....to the point where he was willing to be fired instead of going with any other QB, then you had BOB who is such a garbage coach that it takes an elite QB to make up for how bad he is at coaching an offense, then you had Jeff Fisher.....

The first time Case had a halfway decent coach who had any interest in putting him on the field was in Minnesota and he thrived.

Just yesterday, Norwell was a "done deal" to the Giants. Now he is going to the Jags. Who knows what is going to happen. I think the agents are leaking fake news to drive their players prices up.

Basically if you see a tweet that lists terms of a deal that will be signed, it's a done deal. All the rest is noise.

There will always be missed picks and free agents. Look at Morey an Lunhow who whiffed badly at times..

The point is to have an overall strategy that makes the team elite at some point while having flexibility to sustain success.
