The Rockets are 8-0 when Ryan Anderson plays less than 10 minutes

This particular stat is meaningless to me. Rockets need a healthy, 3 point making Ryan Anderson in the playoffs. It gives us a different dynamic

 

So... it seems we need to know what the stats are when he plays less than 30, and more than 30. We got nothing to compare the numbers to, man.

 

A lot of the games Ryno has missed are when everyone else was healthy, so I don't think it's necessarily fair to evaluate based on this stat. Also, the team playing well right now may have had an impact on the Rockets to rest him more games.

And lastly, if anything, that stat probably speaks more to the Rockets' depth than it does to Ryno's abilities

I think it's a bad stat given how many injuries there have been and how many games we've won

 

Well, it's safe to say Ryan won't be playing more than 30 minutes in the playoffs anyways, so we can eliminate that from the conversation. Other than that, without looking at the stats, the Rockets are 36-12 when Ryan plays MORE than 20 minutes. So essentially, we're really good when Ryan plays significant minutes, and we're really good when Ryan does NOT play significant minutes. This also doesn't account for who else was missing when Ryan was playing more than 20 minutes. There simply isn't a direct correlation between the Rockets record and Ryan Anderson's minutes.

And, we want a 100% healthy squad in the playoffs. The more bullets in our chamber, the more likely we are successful.

You don't need windshield wipers to make a car run, but they sure do help on a rainy day. Anderson does not need to make huge contributions for this team. His presence on the floor is just another element of spacing that's been key to our success thus far. I wouldn't bank on Mbah and Tucker sustaining the shooting they have displayed over the past few weeks. They have been absolutely terrific for us, but let's not kid ourselves. They can't shoot like Anderson, nor can Anderson defend like them, but there is a time and place for each player to be used situationally and I think D'antoni is genius at doing exactly just that.

stats like this for role players will give you funny results. the truth is it's only jh, cp3, and clinty that matter when it comes to stats like this.

 

Not sure why Bobby Brown got cut. I swear every time I see him in the game the Rockets aren't just winning, but winning big. That's a huge mistake to take out a proven winner like Brown.
