I understand. But bigs like Shaq and others are on record saying it’s because the ball feels like a tennis ball
in their hands. Because 5 out of 100 guys with big hands learn to use finger tip control doesn’t
mean the other 95 have overcome the flaw.

A big hand can shoot with follow through.....but if you have no finger tip control; the ball just hits with a thud.
Little to no backspin or touch.

Good enough. KAT can shoot 3’s. Both Embiid and KAT don’t have the ball sitting deep in their palms.

When you are tall you play close to the basket and normally don't shoot jumpers - so that's going to hurt your ft shooting which is just a standing 15 ft jumper where you don't actually elevate.

For a guy like Clint, who primarily scores 3 feet or less from the basket, the only time you shoot outside shots is when you practice ft's. Guards have an advantage because they shoot from the outside as a normal part of their game.

not really a concern at all. 2-10 today, 2-4 yesterday...........but he was 16-19 in the previous 5 games. I think he is allowed to have one bad game from the line after a good run like that

Yes, helps if they act and emulate a shooter early in life. Anthony Davis playing as a guard helped
his mindset of preventing the bad habit of letting the ball sit too deep in the palm of the hand.

Fingers provide so much of your fine motor skills in the task of shooting a basketball. Using all legs (base),
Shoulders, Elbows, Wrist and no fingers can give you an ugly inaccurate shot.

Don’t get me wrong Guards can be bad free throw shooters as well. Mental issues present
themselves. Nick Anderson was a decent free throw shooter prior to missing those free throws
vs us in the playoffs. Struggled there after. Kinda like Chuck Knublauch losing his nack for
throwing to 1st base. Or Wild Thing coming in to relieve pitchers after Joe Carter crushed him.

Dwight shot about 80% in practice from FT line. I always felt it was more mental. Rockets should have
hired bikini models to try to distract him in practice. Or about 60 motorcycle bikers to heckle him
or distract him while shooting FT’s in practice. Possible Dwight could have carried that ability
to block out the crowd distractions during the actual game.

I blame the uncalled lane violations on every one of his free throws. What’s up with that?

Sabonis and Yao were behemoths with great touch not just at the free throw line but from all over the field. Especially Sabonis. Most of the time big guys who are efficient free throw shooters have either a solid mid range or in Rik Smits or Sabonis case from beyond the rang game. They have a feel

A tennis ball is 10x smaller than a basketball. The largest Hand Difference in league history might be 2x.

Shaq is fake news, and a lesser player than Olajuwon.

Yes understood. Just a visual. Like trying to shoot a tennis ball into the wastebasket from across the room.
Hard to get finger tip control on a tennis ball. Will volleyball suffice for you.

And yes, Olajuwon made Shaq look like Thurl Bailey. Without the victory NC St got vs Olajuwon.

It's completely NOT like a Tennis Ball - Wastebasket.

    1 - Size (already mentioned)
2 - Players don't PRACTICE tennis balls in wastebasket like they do FTs.. nor should they.
